Author POV
After a long stay at the hospital Jimin was finally going to be released today. His friend, Taehyung was picking him up this morning before he headed into work. Even though he had been discharged, Jimin couldn't return to the station for another 5 days. He wasn't thrilled when his captain informed him at the end of last week that he would be assigned to desk work for 2 weeks after he returned as a precaution.
Jimin was also sad that Jungkook had gone back to work last Wednesday as well, but the younger always stopped by on his way home to see him. It didn't help that being confined to the hospital bed was rather boring since everyone was at work all day and couldn't visit until after their shift. He spent most days calling his mother and checking in to see how she was feeling or reminiscing about his childhood.
During one of their conversations, Jimin had told her about his handsome informant who had saved his life. Mrs. Park was so excited to hear about her son finding someone who made him happy. It had been years since she had heard him speak so animated about something other than his job. She knew her days were numbered, so she felt relieved to know that her son had someone important in his life.
When Jimin told her that he would be discharged on Thursday, she asked him to bring Jungkook with him the next time he visited so she could meet him in person. Her son was anxious about the two meeting, but he didn't want to disappoint his mother so he agreed. The detective had just finished changing into his street clothes when Taehyung showed up.
Jimin POV
"Hi, Tae Tae!"
"Hey, Jiminie hyung. You all set?" my dongsaeng asked with a boxy grin.
"Yeah, I can't wait to sleep in my own bed!" I pouted, causing Taehyung to laugh.
"I don't know what you're talking about, these beds feel so comfortable to me."
"Well you haven't had to sleep on one for nearly two weeks with limited mobility!" I grumbled as I walked over to my small travel bag. Just when I was about to bend down and pick it up, his loud voice stopped me.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Here let me get that for you," Tae insisted as he shooed my hand away and slung the bag over his shoulder with ease.
"I could've carried it myself. It wasn't that heavy..."
"Don't be silly, it's no problem hyungie!"
"O-okay...thanks I guess," I replied with a bitter smile.
Even though I was slightly annoyed that nobody was letting me do anything, I was grateful for their concern. I followed after my best friend slowly, choosing not to start an argument over a stupid bag. On the car ride to my condo, I decided to shoot, Jungkook a quick text to let him know I had been discharged.
