Jimin POV

"You're a difficult one to crack detective Park..."

Our intense staring contest was interrupted by the nice waitress bringing Jungkook his food. "Thank you," he said with a small bow as she nodded and went to her other tables. I watched as he buttered the pancakes and poured a generous amount of syrup on them. Even though I was sort of pressed for time, I waited for him to take a bite before talking.

"Alright you have your food now. Can you tell me what you found out now, please?" I asked with a short sight.

"Tell you what, shorty," he began as he finished chewing. "I'll tell you everything you want to know...on one condition."

"Aish, enough games already! I don't have all day, Jeon," I groaned as I slouched back in the booth.

"Fine then I guess you'll just have to solve the case without me. Please...be my guest."

I clenched my fist under the table as he continued eating his food. He knew very well that I needed his information, so he was essentially black mailing me into doing what he wanted. As much as I was tempted to walk out the door, I took a deep breath to calm myself down before responding.

"What is your condition?" I asked dejectedly. Jungkook put down his fork as he gave me a wicked smirk.

"I get to feed you two of my pancakes," he grinned. I scoffed at the dumb request, trying to figure out what his motive was. Why in the world was he withholding information on the account that I eat two pancakes?!

"What kind of ridiculous condition is that?!" I shrieked.

"I'm just a concerned citizen who noticed that you didn't have a proper breakfast. And...since I am the one with the leverage, I must use my powers for good," he teased with a wink.

My heart skipped a beat at the oddly sweet gesture. It was as though my brain was short-circuiting and I couldn't find any words at the moment...I was speechless. I cleared my throat and swept my hair back again as I tried to will my mouth to function properly.

"F-fine..."

"Excellent!" he said cheerfully. "It's always much more fun when people play along," he chuckled.

"This isn't a game, Jungkook."

"Yeah, yeah whatever," he said with a wave of his hand. I turned to ask the waitress for an extra plate when Jungkook cut off a chunk of pancake with his fork and held it out to me. "Open up, shorty."

"Wha-what are y-you doing?!" I asked bewildered.

"The condition was that I feed you two pancakes," he explained with a smile. My eyes nearly popped out as I realized what I had agreed to. He laughed at my reaction as he moved the fork closer to my mouth. "For a detective you really should be better at listening."

I screamed internally as I slowly parted my lips, glaring back at him with a huff. He stuffed the rather large bite into my mouth, causing my cheeks to puff out a bit. I felt myself blush slightly as he watched me chew with a cheeky grin. The situation seemed intimate in a way and I could feel my heart race inside my chest.

On the second bite he offered me, some syrup got on my bottom lip when I didn't open my mouth wide enough. I reached for a napkin to wipe it off, but before I could, my informant suddenly leaned across the table to swipe his thumb against my lips softly. I gasped as he used his finger to clean my mouth before inserting the same digit into his own mouth.

"Mmm...I swear these taste better than usual today," he replied with a smirk. All I could do was look away shyly as my blush darkened.

Jungkook fed me the rest of the two pancakes in between taking some mouthfuls himself. We finally managed to clean the plate after what felt like forever.

"Okay can you please tell me now?" I asked with a pout as I looked at him piling his dishes in the middle of the table.

"Alright. A deal's a deal. I'm just happy that you ate." I cocked my head to the side as he turned his attention back to me. "You should really take better care of yourself, detective," he stated with a concerned look.

I was slightly annoyed that Jungkook had picked up on my terrible eating habits so easily. But as I mentioned before...he's a great observer. Since high school, I struggled with my weight so this was a touchy subject for me. I just nodded at him since I was eager to talk about the case.

"So, what did you learn?" I inquired as I immediately picked up my pen to write notes in my pad.

"Right. Well the Freedom Fighters have been coming to the tattoo parlor for the past few days to meet with Tyler Woo. I heard one of them ask him when the next shipment of window panes were coming in."

"Window panes? Wait...that's slang for LSD isn't it?" I asked as I leaned in closer.

"Yeah, but here's the tricky part. The Freedom Fighters requested 200lbs of it by Friday night. And it's safe to say that Tyler freaked. He told them that he only had 100lbs for them and that he could get the rest from his 'gyeongchol' by Monday," Jungkook spoke quietly, trying not to draw attention to our conversation. My hand instantly stopped jotting notes as soon as I processed what he just said.

"His gyeongchol?! Are you sure that was the word he used?!"

"Yeah, why? What does that mean anyways?"

"Tyler was implying that he had a leak in the police station!" I whisper shouted with widened eyes.

"Wow...so the plot thickens," he responded as he folded his arms.

"Oh my gosh, this is bigger than I thought!" I said in disbelief. I dragged my hands down my face as I groaned in frustration. "No wonder I haven't been able to catch them yet. Every time I get close to the Freedom Fighters, they somehow escape at the last minute! Someone at the station is tipping them off..."

"See! I always said cops were bad news. Can't trust them as far as I'm concerned," Jungkook stated as he shook his head in disapproval. I glared at his attempt to start talking about his conspiracy theories. "Well besides you anyways..." he added with a small laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Uh huh, sure," I teased with a small giggle as I slid to the end of the booth, gathering my things along the way. It looked as though Jungkook wanted to say something, but he bit his lip as he turned to look out the window blankly. And even though I wanted to stay behind and talk with him some more, I had a case to crack. "Well...I really do need to get going now," I muttered with a sigh.

My informant simply nodded in acknowledgement, his head still facing the window. I furrowed my eyebrows as I watched him continue to stare at the road in deep thought, wondering what he was thinking about so hard. Unfortunately, I really did have to get back so I stood up, prepared to walk away.

"Oh and um..." I paused as I waited for Jungkook to face me again. "...thank you for the information. I really couldn't have gotten this far without you," I said honestly, the corners of my mouth slightly curving upwards on their own to form a small smile.

"My pleasure, shorty," he said with a wink. I rolled my eyes as I handed him the envelope with his check inside, waving goodbye as I made my way to the entrance.

The roads were still somewhat busy when I reached the end of the sidewalk, people walking briskly in every direction. My eyes glued to the crosswalk machine and I sighed in relief when it changed after a few seconds. A large group of us walked across the street before dispersing three different ways. I broke off to the left, making my way along the sidewalk not really paying attention to my surroundings.

My mind was preoccupied with the conversation I had a few moments ago with my informant. It was terrifying to think that there was actually a dirty cop in my precinct. Instantly I began compiling a list of potential suspects, jotting them down in my notepad. I was halfway down the second block when I felt a hand grab my arm from behind.
