Jimin POV
We arrived at a small diner after a quick 12 minute drive from my condo. Since it was still a work day, there weren't many people driving around this time of day. This made it a lot easier for me to pull into a parking space right near the front of the restaurant, only a few feet away. I smiled as Jungkook held me back so that he could open the door for me, shaking my head with a faint blush. The bubbly hostess cheerfully greeted and seated us at a small table next to the corner window in the back.
"Your waitress will be right with you gentlemen. I hope you enjoy!"
"Thank you!" I replied with a head bow as we both picked up our menus.
"I'm telling you, this place has the best omelets!" Jungkook claimed with a wide grin as he examined the breakfast items.
"Hmm, I think I'll just get a coffee and scrambled egg whites..." I muttered, not glancing up from the menu.
"That's not food! That's- that's scraps!"
"It is not," I pouted as I set my menu down on the table to see him clearly.
"If I'm paying for this then I expect you to actually eat a decent meal!"
"Who said you were paying, huh?! I'm capable of paying for myself!"
"Well I'm the one who asked you out on this-" Jungkook cut himself off before he could finish, biting his lower lip nervously. "Never mind..." he stated quietly as he picked up his menu again. I frowned as I reached over to snatch it from his hands. "Hey!"
"What were you going to say?" I inquired, ignoring his attempts at trying to get the menu back.
"Nothing...just forget it."
"Jung-"
"Hello gentlemen, my name is Sue and I'll be your waitress this morning." Jungkook and I turned our attention to the short lady beside our table as she pulled out her notepad. "What can I get you two to drink?" she asked sweetly.
"Um, I'll have a glass of banana milk and he'll have a coffee...black with two sugars," Jungkook answered with a smile. My eyes widened as I heard him order my drink for me...and actually remembering how I like my coffee.
"Okie dokie, I'll get that for you right away. And would you like to order now or are you still looking at the menu?"
"I think we-"
"I'm still looking," I replied as I interrupted Jungkook, meeting his gaze briefly before returning my attention to the waitress.
"Alrighty, then. Let me go get those drinks for you and you just let me know when you're ready to order!"
"Thank you..." I responded with a small smile as I examined the menu some more. As soon as the waitress left, I felt Jungkook's eyes on me.
"I thought you were just going to get egg whites?"
"Well, I changed my mind," I stated in a matter of fact tone. My informant scoffed as he picked up his menu again, flipping through the pages casually. "Besides...if you're paying for this date I might as well go all out," I reasoned as I watched Jungkook almost break his neck due to how quickly he looked up.
I pretended not to notice his reaction as I felt my heart race. When he had said he wanted to take me out to breakfast, I had secretly hoped he meant it as a date. He was impossible to read most of the time, but his little tantrum a few minutes ago confirmed in my mind that he wanted it to be a date too. I cleared my throat as I tried to switch topics.
