“Ken-trell-I’m cold.” Jahseh stuttered out teeth clattering together.

“I know baby. I’m sorry.” Kentrell said taking off his own jacket and putting it over the shorter.

“N-No! You’ll get cold.” Jahseh tried to give the jacket back but Kentrell wasn’t having it. “It’s snowing Kentrell! You need this jacket!”

“l’ll be fine baby. I promise.” Kentrell leaned down kissing his cold forehead. He then pulled  both hoods over the younger’s head tighter. It was dark and they were navigating unknown woods. Matters worse the snow was getting heavier and they needed to find shelter soon. Sure, most of it was being blocked by the canopy of trees above but soon even that wouldn’t help as much. Jahseh felt cold and tired. Plus, his stomach was cramping but he could he ignore that. They needed to find a safe place to hide for now.

Their escape hadn't been that easy. Just like Monique had promised them. Kentrell had picked at the door after taking their collars out. They had walked out hand in hand looking around but they couldn't see anything. It was dark. The moment they stepped off the porch shots had been fired out of nowhere. Kentrell had grabbed his hand making a run for it.

Kentrell held onto his hand tighter looking around wondering where to go next. They could be going around in circles for all they knew. He huffed deciding to take left. He didn’t know where they were going but they couldn’t stop moving either. They continued walking trying to follow a trail and not venture into the woods that much using the single flashlight Kentrell had as a guide. They hadn’t encountered any wild animal yet so they were good. Jahseh was about to let a complain of how tired he was and ask Kentrell to stop for a second when the sky cleared for a moment letting rays of moonlight to shine on them for a few minutes. Jahseh stopped his eyes widening.

“You’re bleeding!” he exclaimed pointing at the large stain of red on Kentrell’s white sweater. Kentrell looked at it. He had been bleeding for a while now. He was in pain too but he had been sucking it up.

“I’m fine. Let’s keep moving.” Kentrell dismissed it tagging on the shorter’s hand once again so they could keep moving. They both had a thin blanket of snow over their bodies. Jahseh felt bad. He had been complaining about how tired he was while Kentrell had been injured and bleeding this whole time. He didn’t say another word after that. He could suck it up too. Finding shelter and safety was more important. He was confident he could hold out a little longer. His already swollen ankles begged for him to stop but he kept moving holding tighter on to Kentrell. They were already moving slow due to him being pregnant. He wouldn’t make it any more harder for Kentrell by complaining too much. There wasn’t even anything Kentrell could do to make it any better anyway. They were lost in the middle of the woods. Completely alone and far from civilization.

“Ow!” Jahseh screeched feeling a sudden pang of pain flash through his lower stomach. The movement and screech had been so sudden that it caused Kentrell to drop the flash light. It went out immediately and Kentrell lost sight of it.

“What’s wrong?” Kentrell started to panic. Jahseh took deep breaths rubbing his stomach but another wave of pain hit him. Then he felt it. Warm liquid flowing between his legs.

“No no no no! Baby not right now. Just hang in ther-fuck!” he hunched over groaning in pain. The warm liquid continued to flow between his legs. “Kentrell the baby is coming!”
