Demigods: In Paris (a Miraculous Ladybug and Percy Jackson crossover)

Ah ha, there is finally a plan

Annabeth kissed Percy again, then pulled away to let him breathe. Outside the green bubble of protection they were in, Ladybug was slumped unconscious on the floor. A red and black spotted coin lay beside her - she must have already retransformed if she'd summoned another Lucky Charm. 

"Ladybug!" Chat yelled, barely fending off Hawkmoth and unable to come to his partner's aid. Annabeth, after confirming that Percy was going to be okay, yelled at Carapace to let her out. He seemed hesitant, but obeyed, and she leaped though the hole he created to kneel by Ladybug. She would live, but she'd sustained a pretty bad head injury so it would be a few minutes until she woke up.

Annabeth scooped the coin off the ground and dragged Ladybug out of harm's way as she examined it. A moment later, Rena joined her.

"Is she going to be okay?" The fox-themed hero asked. Clearly she looked up to Ladybug. Annabeth wondered how Alya would feel if she realised that her hero was actually just her clumsy best friend.

"She'll be fine in a minute or so," Annabeth replied just as Ladybug's earrings beeped. 

"She doesn't have that long," Rena fretted.

"It's fine, I'll make sure she's safe until she can retransform. I already know who she is."

Rena's eyes widened. "You do?!"

"Yeah. Now go help Chat Noir, looks like he needs it." Rena Rouge nodded in understanding and dashed back into the fight, distracting Hawkmoth for long enough for Annabeth to hide Ladybug just as she transformed back. The kwami Tikki dropped out of thin air, looking exhausted. Annabeth barely caught her, then found a macaron in Marinette's purse to feed her. When the kwami recovered enough, she noticed Marinette's unconscious state and gasped, going over and hovering her paddle-like hands over the girl's temple. A pink light flowed out, and the wound vanished. A moment later, Marinette groaned and sat up.

As the girl fully recovered, Annabeth considered the uses of the coin she'd summoned. It didn't seem particularly special, but...

"Retransform," Annabeth demanded. Marinette frowned, but did as she was told. The coin reappeared, and Annabeth hesitated only for a second before tossing it into the air. It vanished, and a javelin dropped into her hand. Ladybug squeaked in surprise. Annabeth returned the coin to normal.

"What's going on with my lucky charms?" Ladybug asked her. "Usually they're normal, but the other day it was that head that turned the monster to stone, and now this... I have a feeling you know."

"You're right. I have a feeling it's to do with my and Percy's being here, but for now we'll take any advantage we can get," Annabeth reasoned. "You ready to go back?"

Ladybug peeped around the edge of the structure they were hiding behind, and quickly ducked back with a wince.

"We need to regroup, carrying on like this is just going to get us killed, and I don't know if it's even possible to beat him..."

"You're saying we need a plan?"

"A plan. Yeah, okay." Ladybug took a deep breath.

"Let's do it. Rena!" The fox themed hero made her way over.

"We're going to retreat for now," Ladybug told her with confidence that wasn't there a second ago. "Can you cover us?"

"Sure, where are we going?"

"Where's the last place he'd expect us to go?"

"I don't know," Ladybug sighed. "We're all pretty conspicuous."

"How about our hotel room?" Annabeth suggested. "It's not large, but I'm pretty sure Hawkmoth doesn't know about it."

"Great idea," Alya nodded. "I need to retransform and find some food for Trixx before I summon another mirage, I'll be back in a few minutes."

"Be quick, we'll hold off Hawkmoth until you get back."

Rena Rouge nodded and leaped off into the darkness.
