Superheroes plan a kidnap

Chat Noir was beginning to worry that Ladybug wasn't going to show up. It was almost the end of the lunch break, he still hadn't eaten, and he needed to get the note into his father's study and then back to school on time before lunch ended. Just as he was about to give up and risk writing the note himself, a familiar red blur swung overhead and dropped into the alleyway.

"Sorry I'm late," Ladybug said, holding out a sheet of paper in her red-clad hand. "Is it okay?"

Chat took the paper and skimmed the curly writing.

Hawkmoth,

If you want to see your son again, bring your miraculous to the Eiffel Tower at 9pm tonight.

Ladybug and Chat Noir

"That's great," Chat Noir said, and tore off the bottom strip with their names on. "But we can't let him prove that it's us, or he might be able to turn the public against us."

"Good point. Is that all? I need to go."

"There is one more thing, bugaboo. If I'm going to be making sure Adrien stays put at Marinette's from the moment he leaves school, I'll need you to meet Hawkmoth and take his Miraculous."

"Wh- no! I can't, I'm busy tonight!"

"Well I'm even busier. One of us needs to do it, and I can't."

"Well, neither can I!"

"Look, Ladybug-"

"How about I kidnap Adrien instead?" Ladybug winced as she spoke the words. Chat Noir's eyes widened. He didn't want her to actually kidnap Adrien! Lovely as it would be to spend time with her, that still meant that neither of them would be free to take Hawkmoth's miraculous.

"Out of the question." Adrien would be perfectly safe at the birthday party he'd ...forgotten to tell his father or Nathalie he'd be attending.

"Why?"

"Look, bugaboo, I can't explain but I need to be the one to take him, okay?"

"Fine, but I still have plans-"

"Well, you'll just have to cancel them, but I have a note to deliver, so bye!" Before Ladybug could protest, Chat Noir extended his baton and jumped from roof to roof in the direction of the Agreste manor. He detransformed a block away and walked up the steps. Nathalie buzzed him in, and he hurried to the dining room, where she was waiting with his food.

"You're late," she said.

"I'm sorry, I got caught up leaving school," Adrien fibbed, scarfing his food. "And I have to do some homework before I go back, so-" He dashed out of the room, plate in hand, and locked the door to his bedroom.

"Adrien!" Nathalie said loudly. "It is not polite-"

"Really sorry Nathalie, I don't want my grades to fall! You know how upset it makes my father!"

There was a sigh from the other side of the door, and the clicking footsteps retreated. Adrien caught Plagg just before he dove into his food, and pointed at the door.

"You get the food in a minute, once you do your poof-y thing and disable the cameras."

"But Adriennnn..."

"Just do it! Quickly!"

Adrien knew his father was currently at a business meeting with the mayor, but he would be back any minute. Nathalie would be in her office, doing paperwork, giving him the perfect window to sneak into his father's study.

"Fine," Plagg groaned, and dissolved into a blur of black smoke. Adrien stuck his head out of his room just in time to see the red light on the camera in the hall go out. A moment later, Plagg reappeared in Adrien's hands.

"I think I'm dying," he groaned theatrically, waving his stubby black hands in the air. "Fooooooood!" Adrien deposited him on his lunch plate, and snuck out of his room, past Nathalie's study, and into his father's study, checking that all the cameras were off along the way. He didn't dare look at the painting of his mother, instead going straight to the desk and leaving Ladybug's note on the top, weighed down with a paperweight. He was just about to leave when he had a sudden thought, and hurried over to the window, opening it wide. That way, his father was more likely to believe that Chat Noir or Ladybug snuck in whilst he was out.

Adrien noticed his father's car pulling into the drive, and hurried back to his room. He re-entered it just as the camera's red light flashed back on. "That was close," Plagg commented through a mouthful of cheese. Adrien sighed, looking sadly at his decimated lunch.

"It's fine," he told himself. "I'll eat plenty at Marinette's party later."

Adrien emerged from his room and let his bodyguard drive him to school. He waved as he walked backwards up the steps, then walked around the corner into class. Now all he had to do was escape as Chat Noir after school so his bodyguard thought he was missing, and hang out until it was time to go to Marinette's party. Then he could have a good time with his friends whilst Ladybug went to collect Hawkmoth's miraculous and save Paris.
