I need to stop revealing people's identities.

(A/N: So I'm in a good mood today because I got loads of really nice comments on my other book, so here's another chapter ^-^ Enjoy!)

Ladybug set Adrien down outside the hotel, and they all walked in. It was late, so nobody saw them as they climbed the stairs to the room Annabeth had told Ladybug to go to. She pulled out the key card she'd given her, and unlocked the door. As soon as they got into the room, Ladybug raced to the curtains and pulled them closed before turning on a light. For some reason the window was wide open, so she closed it too. There was a pamphlet of tourist attractions in Paris on the floor.

Rena Rouge's miraculous beeped, and she pointed at the door to the bathroom. "I'll just be in there." The door locked. "Trixx, let's rest." There was a flash of orange light from under the door, and Ladybug knew that Alya was on the other side of the door, waiting for her to take charge. She held in a sigh. When did leading become such a burden?

"Okay," Ladybug said slowly. "We need a plan."

"First, we need to make sure my friends are safe." Adrien insisted.

"It was an empty threat, they'll be fine." She couldn't bring herself to meet his beautiful eyes.

"But-"

"Leave it, Chat! Sorry, Adrien. I mean... Oh, man." She still couldn't quite believe they were the same person.

"Look, I can't risk my friends being in danger because of me. You saw my dad, he's gone crazy! He would have killed Percy, tried to do the same to me." He indicated his bandaged side. "Please, Ladybug. He knows where they all live, and he's never liked Nino." She could see Carapace hold back a snort. "Please."

"Chat, I'm sure they'll be okay-"

"No! We need to-"

Alya's voice came from the other side of the door. "What Ladybug is trying to say is that-"

"If you'd just listen-"

"Dude, trust us. Nino and-"

"Wait." Adrien stared at Carapace with narrow eyes. "What did you say?"

"Uh, I said to trust us?" Carapace laughed nervously and Ladybug buried her head in her palms.

"No, before that. You said..." Adrien trailed off, then realisation made his jaw drop. "Nino?! What- Wait, Alya?" He spun to face the closed door.

The lock clicked again, and Alya emerged, waving. "Hey, pretty boy."

"Wayzz, shell off." Nino's costume vanished, and he grinned awkwardly at his best friend. "Hey, dude."

Ladybug rubbed her hands over her face. "Master Fu is going to be so mad."

"Wait, Marinette's still in danger!" All three of her friends realised at the same time. Of course, she was glad that they cared, but right now she didn't need to deal with any more stress.

"Marinette's fine, I already left her in a safe place, remember?" Ladybug sighed.

"I thought that was just a cover to get us out of the party?" Nino frowned.

"Well, yeah, it was, but I saw Marinette wandering around outside and decided to move her first to make it more believable." Ladybug lied. "If you're really so worried, I'll go check she's still there. I need some air anyway."

"Okay, I'll come with you-" Adrien started.

"No, that's really not necessary. Your kwami needs to rest." Ladybug said quickly. Plagg made a noise of agreement from inside the minifridge. "Besides, the fewer people that know where she is, the safer she'll be. You stay here, get some sleep, and we'll think of a plan when I get back."

Ladybug stifled a yawn as Nino and Alya made sounds of approval. It had been almost 24 hours since she'd last slept, and the events of the day were beginning to catch up to her. Maybe she'd just find somewhere to sleep for a few minutes as she 'checked on' Marinette.

"Are you sure you're oka-"

"I'm fine!" she snapped at Adrien, and immediately covered her mouth, blushing. "I'm sorry. Look, I'll be back in a bit, okay. Don't wait up, and message me if Percy or Annabeth come back."

Ladybug breathed a sigh of relief as she closed the hotel room door behind her. She took the stairs down to the entrance, and snuck out of the front. For some reason she could hear Chloé's obnoxious voice coming from a street nearby, so she hurried in the opposite direction.

"I'm sorry Tikki," she whispered as another wave of exhaustion washed over her. "Just a little longer." Maybe Hawkmoth couldn't get to her whilst she was Ladybug, but she needed to make sure her parents were okay, and that he couldn't use Adrien's classmates at her party as leverage.

"Ladybug!" Her father exclaimed as he opened the door, wiping sleep from his eyes. "Are you bringing Marinette back?"

"No, sir, sorry, but I can assure you that she's perfectly safe. I just came to tell you that you may be in danger - all of you - so open the door to nobody, no matter how harmless they seem."

"Okay Ladybug, I understand."

"Thank you, and I'm sorry again for disturbing you."

Forcing her heavy lids to stay open, Ladybug swung to Alya's house, and gave her sister the same message, repeating the process with Nino's mother.

Finally, Ladybug collapsed inside an alleyway. She sat down, wrapping her arms around her legs. It felt hopeless. She couldn't think of a single way to stop Hawkmoth now that he was using his power on himself. Even if they got the miraculous away from him, he would never stop, and he knew Chat's identity. She needed to talk to Tikki. She would need food, and there was a cookie in her bag in her civilian form.

"Tikki, spots-"

"Ladybug!"

Ladybug clamped her mouth shut before she could finish her detransformation phrase, and bit back an exhausted sob as Chat Noir dropped down in front of her, Annabeth in tow.

"We have a problem."
