This chapter is dedicated to @0ReadOrDie0 , yet another random stranger who made my day with their encouraging words. Thank you, and enjoy  :)

Percy slashed at the hydra's torso again, to no real effect. All it seemed to be doing was annoying the monster more, but at least it had stopped eating mortals. Another head snapped at Percy, and he restrained himself from reflexively chopping it off.

"Annabeth!" He yelled, looking around for his girlfriend and dodging another head, "How are we going to kill it this time?"

"I'm not sure," she yelled back. Somehow she'd managed to get on top of one of its heads, and was riding it like a really pretty cowboy, blinding it with her dagger. "Last time Clarisse launched fireballs at it, if I remember correctly!"

Percy ignored the alarmed glance the boy in black leather shot in their direction. "And when I fought it the second time, the fireworks exploded it," he agreed loudly. "Any ideas?"

"Can I help?" A female voice asked. Ladybug appeared beside him, shooting her yo-yo to distract an incoming head. "I feel like you're the experts at this sort of thing."

"We need something that will help us defeat it!"

"Okay. Let me try- Lucky Charm!" She launched her yo-yo into the sky, and something red and black-spotted fell down into her hands. Percy recognised it immediately.

"Don't look at it!" He yelped, just as Annabeth cried the same thing. Ladybug turned her head sharply away from the object, instead feeling it with her hands.

"Are those- snakes?" She yelped, dropping the object with a sickening squelch, then laughed nervously and picked it up again. "It's like a... head? Wearing sunglasses, and with...snakes."

"Sunglasses?" Percy asked, battling his way closer and taking a closer look. It was Medusa's head, wearing crude opaque red glasses with black spots. "Give it here?"

"Gladly," Ladybug tossed him the head, grimacing. "I hope you know what to do with it - have you got a plan?"

Percy laughed, then yelled, "Nobody, close your eyes! Snakey, look over here!"

"Okay!" Annabeth yelled, just as Percy held up the head and ripped off the glasses. The snakes flared out, and the hydra jerked away in shock, before slowly freezing to stone.

Silence filled the square.

"What just happened?" Chat Noir asked, as Percy put the glasses back onto Medusa. "Did you just... Turn it to stone?"

"Chat, can you tidy up?" Ladybug asked, staring blankly at the giant sculpture.

"S-sure," the boy in black said, too stunned to think of a pun. "Cataclysm!"

He ran a hand over the stone, and the whole thing crumbled.

"Neat trick," Percy whistled.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" Ladybug shouted, tossing Medusa's head into the sky.

"No-wait!" Percy yelled. "That might be useful! Monster attack - boom! Gaia rises again? No problem! Medusa's head can fix anything! I really wish I hadn't been such an impulsive and rebellious 12 year old..."

"Too late," Annabeth laughed, and the monster head dissolved into a cloud of ladybugs. "And can I just point out that you're still just as reckless as you were at twelve, and would probably do the the exact same thing again?"

"Fair," Percy admitted, as the cloud of bugs swept past him, vanishing the dusty remains of the hydra, replacing the people it'd eaten, and the buildings it had damaged. Ladybug's earring beeped as she and Chat Noir headed towards the demigods.

The heroine winced. "I have to go. Bye, Chat. Bye Annabeth, Percy. Bug out!"

She swung away, leaving Chat Noir to gawk at them. "You-what- how??"

"Look, we'd really love to explain, but we booked seats at La Comédie Français, and we need to get ready. Percy, c'mon!" She tugged at his arm as she began to dash towards their hotel.

"Bye, man!" Percy yelled over his shoulder. "Nice to meow-t you!"

"No! ONLY I'M ALLOWED TO MAKE CAT PUNS!" Chat Noir sobbed, his voice fading as Percy and Annabeth sprinted for their room.

"Well, that was eventful," Percy said blandly as he buttoned his formal shirt.

"You can say that again," muttered Annabeth, brushing her hair over the shoulder of her silver evening gown.

"Well, that was eventful," Percy repeated, glancing at his hair in the mirror and shrugging.

"I didn't mean literally, Seaweed brain!" Annabeth paused her brushing to roll her eyes at him, then sprayed a light body mist.

"Well, why didn't you say so?" Percy sniffed his armpits and winced before pulling a jacket over his white shirt.

"Percy..." Annabeth said threateningly. "You'd better be planning on combing your hair before we go, and you have to wear a tie!"

"But Annabeth..."

"Don't you 'but Annabeth' me, wear the tie. I won't make you wear the cufflinks too, as long as you brush your hair."

"Cufflinks?!" Percy gasped in outrage, and lunged for the comb.
