73. "dance?"

*JAIME*

As soon as I walked out of the house I took out my phone and called her, but it went straight to voicemail... So I called again,

And again.

And again.

After the 6th or 7th voicemail, I gave up on her answering her phone and called Dane. surely he would -hopefully- know where she was...

"Hey Hime."

"Do you have any idea where Lane is?"

"Downtown square at the fountain. She came to visit Rylan at work and I was here with Sara..."

How did she get all the way there?

"Why was she crying, Hime?" He asked, a protective bark to his voice.

I sighed "long story... Don't tell her I'm coming, I'll be right there." I didn't give him a chance to speak before I hung up and got in my car, hooking a U-Turn and headed for downtown.

I parked and walked the pathways by the shops and restaurants, sighing softly as I spotted her sitting alone on one of the benches, the reflections of the lit up water dancing on her face as she threw pennies into the water.

I walked up to her and sat to her side with my hands in my pockets, watching the fountains water show go on and play to the music that was playing in the courtyard's speakers.

"so when are we purchasing our moose farm?" I asked looking over at her with a concerned eye about 10 minutes after I sat down.

She let out a breathy laugh and a sniffle, finally turning her head and looked over at me, "I'm sorry for snapping at you mom, Jaime..."

"No, I'm so sorry about tonight, Lane. She shouldn't have said anything like that about you and I was terrified to fight back until you walked out, I know your pissed, probably at me bu-"

She stood up, shaking her head. that made me cut off whatever I was going to say... was she goign to leave again? are we taking a break because of this?

She finally looked over her shoulder and turned to me, holding out her hand "Shut up and dance with me..."

I raised my eyebrow, "dance?"

She nodded, "yeah, Dance", empahsizing her already held-out hand.

I grinned and took her hand as i stood up, immediately spinning her around and dipping her. She let out a squeak and laughed as I returned her to right side up, one of my arms around her waist and another joined hand in hand with hers.

Her nose pressed on mine, scrunching her nose as she giggled.

I listened for the music and it was something by Walk the Moon. I rested my cheek on hers as we started swaying right in the middle of the almost empty shopping center to the music.

"So your mom really doesn't like me?" She asked in the silence as we swayed.

I rolled my eyes, "don't you dare look back.. We're past that. And who the hell cares anyways? I love you and that's all that matters, dammit. Just keep your eyes on me..." I spoke, kissing her gently. "And just shut up and dance with me," I played back on her.

That Made her blush and kiss me, the wheels spinning in my head just like every other time she kissed me.

The music changed into Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon, Laney got a wicked grin on her face with a laugh.

"Well what a play on words we got here." I laughed, letting out a squeak as she started dancing without a care in the word, i sat back and watched her with a grin on my face. Yep, this girl is my destiny. No doubt we were born to get together.

she bouched over to be and took my hands, making me join her. "I want to do something crazy." She grinned.

"COW TIPPING?"

"No, my idiot. I want to run through the fountain and piss off security." She nodded matter-o-factly.

I laughed and took her hand tighter "Shall I hold your shoes Madame?" I asked with a little bow.

She laughed and shook her head, "No... Hold my hand," she spoke, pulling on me as we splashed though the fountain, dancing in the water flying everywhere.

She spun around and ran towards me with a grin. As she collided, both of us fell back into the water laughing out asses off.

"Hey you two!"

We looked over our shoulders at security running towards us, she pulled on my hand helping me up out of the shallow pool and ran to the parking garage where I parked, I picked her up halfway there and ran faster the rest of the way. I turned the corner to lose them, jogging up the steps to the level and set her on the hood of my car. I kissed her with a laugh, both of us sopping wet and panting from running.

"I love you." I kissed her deeper, my hands resting on her hips as I stood between her legs.

"I guess I love you too," she giggled with a wink, cupping my face and littered my face with kisses.
