56. "i was just about to ask you the same thing"

*JAIME*

"But..."

I felt my heart sink with rejection. Looking down at my shoes and dropping my hands from her shoulders.

In the next instant, her hands cupped my jaw line as she crashed her lips to mine without any warning. I wrapped my arms instantly around her waist as my mind comprehended what was going on. I took in a deep breath, holding her close to me again made my body shake with nerves.

Happy nerves.

The sparklers were going off everywhere just like the first time we kissed on that hill back on Warped Tour. My whole body surged with electric currents as I felt a random, sharp cold breeze came in from the window blowing around us, feeling like we were being lifted off of the ground... thats how this whole moment made me feel.. like I was floating, light and happy.

All the hate we had between us the past 2 months, all the awkward times that threw themselves in our faces, just melted away with this. I felt her hands slide around my neck, holding close to me with a smile into this kiss. It wasn't heated, but it was more powerful than anything I had ever experienced. She was the only one who could do this to my brain... make it turn into complete mush with a simple touch.

I pulled her closer if it was even possible, sliding my hands up and down her sides in rigid circles.

We moved in perfect poetry together, sending my brain into a swirling frenzy once again. She bit my bottom lip delicately, and I happily obliged as we explored each other further, slowly and sensually. She ran her hands down my shoulders and chest, releasing her lips from mine and snuggled her face into my chest resting her forehead on her hands as they clutched my sweat shirt, letting out a slow shaky breath.

Letting go of all the air I had trapped in my lungs, I held to her tight. I looked up to the ceiling mouthing a 'thank you' before kissing her temple and resting my chin on the op of her head. I slid down the wall on my back so we were on sitting on the ground, leaning back against the door with my legs on either side of her. She cuddled against my chest her lips pressed against it in a curved smile making my whole body turn hot.

It felt like a whole weight I had been carrying around had just been disintegrated by an atomic bomb.. because it was. I could finally smile a real smile, as I was doing right now in this very moment.

We stayed there for a good hour and in all that time we didn't say anything, we really didn't have to with what was just re-flamed between us. She reached for one of my hands, intertwining our fingers, fitting perfectly together, another spark going off between us once again as she studied the connection our hands had. I felt unstoppable, and now that I have the girl I love in my arms, I know I will be. And I wasn't ever going to let her go... not in this lifetime at least.

She drew circles around my tattoos, making her way down to the spot where the scar from that one night in Albuquerque still graced my skin on my ribs. She sighed, and put her hand over it keeping it there for a moment before sliding her arm around to hug me tight. I sighed and wrapped my arms tighter around her shoulders, kissing the top of her head.

"i was going to come back..." she sighed, closing her eyes tightly, still clutching my sweatshirt in one of her hands.

I shut my eyes and sighed "i wish you would have.. I'm a complete fucking mess without you.." I buried my face in her hair taking in this moment and all I could get out of it.

She sighed and picked my head up with a single finger under my chin, frowning. "i'm so sorry I didn't..." she said looking over my face with her eyes, searching very inch with those green eyes from hell.. they still made me feel all woozy inside.
