Amite stood silently watching Carisa not knowing what to say, "I-"
Carisa raised her hands in the air, "You can't, you just can't. You're perfectly fine Amite, hell you're indestructible in my eyes, I look up to you, I admire you! You're the Alaois who first spoke to me fluently, I was so happy when you did. Because I hadn't held a semi-normal conversation in months."
Carisa huffed tapping her hands against her legs, biting her lip, "I'm so lucky to be here... and a big part of that is thanks to you."
Amite held her tongue and clenched her fists looking at Carisa and seeing the tears swell up in her eyes, "I need to tell you something... Neda told me it should be fine and that I should keep it to myself... Carisa I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She grabbed Carisa's shoulders and took a deep breath, "I'm sorry, I didn't want to tell you, I wanted for both of us just to forget about it...Carisa I destroyed your town... I killed all those people. Believe me, I regret it every single day, I wish things could be different-"
Carisa stepped back, Neda's words back in her head, remembering she was the one who took the blame... now she understood why "You knew I wanted to know."
Amite kneeled, "I'm sorry, I was scared, I didn't want you to know. I don't want you to hate me." She reached to grab Carisa but she'd already moved farther away stepping back slowly and continuing to stare at Amite.
"I trusted you... how long have you been keeping this... since I asked Neda about it?..." she looked at Amite's sad expression, "No... much longer, since we went there... all four of us. When Marnik was still here." She saw Amite flinch, "You... you didn't care about my feeling, you didn't care how much it hurt, how much I've wanted to know."
In a rage Carisa walked up to her not seeing the other Alaois coming to see the commotion, "Congratulations Amite, I don't want to see you again, ever again! I'd rather die!..." she clenched her teeth, "I wish I could take everything from you... and then ask if it's all fine!"
Carisa turned and walked away in a rage, clenching her jaw. Seeing the glances of the Alaois but ignoring them she walked up to the tent she knew the commanders would be in.
Getting through the entrance and seeing Vasin as well as Fallyn discussing until she walked in.
Carisa crossed her hands, "I want to leave."
"I'm sorry, what?" Vasin asked, surprised by her tone.
Carisa huffed, "I want to leave, out of the camp..."
Fallyn raised a brow, "Back to HQ you mean?"
"No, I just want to leave, I don't want to be here, don't want to be there either. Just want to be away... away from anything like an Alaois." She explained finding herself begin to look down.
"I can't allow that," Fallyn said.
Vasin stepped in front, "What happened? Believe me, if it was someone else I wouldn't give a damn but you. Weren't you going back to Marnik once you got cured? If you leave now, you could die."
"Then let me die!" She yelled, "Apparently everyone knows how many cures have already failed on me, so do either of you believe I'll get better?!"
They both went quiet as Vasin grabbed Carisa's arm, "I think you need some rest." He walked out to see Alaois standing around the tent, they'd heard what they said. Signaling one of them to come closer, "Take Carisa to the tent." He said and as they walked away he ordered another, "Keep a lookout at her door, she doesn't leave and no one is allowed to go in and see her."
Vasin turned around and looked at everyone, "I'm sure you all have jobs to do." And slowly they all went on minding their business, he huffed and went back in the tent. Seeing Fallyn with her hands crossed waiting for him.
"As we were previously discussing... who the hell do you even think might take my place as commander? It's not something you can just decide the way you did." She hissed.
Vasin shrugged and grabbed a device on the table, tapping a few times before tiring it around. It had writing on it, "As per the other commanders, they recommend you take your leave, after all, you've become obsessed. You brought this on yourself."
"I am not obsessed!" She yelled louder than she wanted.
Vasin set the device down glaring at her, "Your judgment has been clouded, you can't even see your actions as wrong. Look around you, we were supposed to only take Carisa, not the whole kind."
"But just look at the possibility, humans can help us just like we can help them. It's all a matter of giving and take. If they can ally us to those we are enemies with just imagine how much stronger we'd be." Fallyn declared as Vasin slammed his hand on the table.
"What makes you think they'd like to give and take... we took everything from them, we killed them mercilessly, and set their own off to kill each other. We brought forth the horror they still call their home. Carisa herself doesn't forgive us, who the hell even knows what she's so pissed off about now." Vasin growled pulling at his hair, "What more can you expect from the rest!? They see us as their main enemy, and as their jailers."
"You don't know that!"
He glared daggers at her screaming, "Yes I do!"
