Amite walked to Carisa and let her know she could head back. Carisa was however hesitant, catching a glimpse of Marnik, she said she wanted to leave. So why did he punch Ezhno, because he gave her that choice?
Going to sit in the back she crossed her hands looking at the ground. Marnik stood in front of her, she was able to see his feet but didn't look up. Ezhno walked towards the two, "Well tell him what you told me."
Marnik pusher Ezhno, "Whats the point? You already told me what she said... just leave her alone."
Ezhno rolled his eyes and left, looking at Carisa one last time, she hadn't even looked up when he spoke to her. As soon as he walked in Amite glared at him, "Did you have to do that?"
"No..." he looked away from her grumbling, "But Marnik was just starring in awkwardness."
"Then you let him be." She closed the door taking one last look at Marnik with the corner of her eye.
Marnik sat besides her, tapping his foot, unaware of what to tell her. He placed his hand on her shoulder and whispered, "I'm sorry I brought you along."
She sighed removing her hand from her, "Just go away for a few minutes, I want to be alone."
From not wanting to be alone when she first met him to not wanting him near her now. She was just upset, being home and having that taken without the chance to have one last look at it. Shaking her head she looked at the door Amite and Ezhno where behind. A part of her wanted to forget they where aliens, that she had been speaking to them so casually.
Looking at the door she saw all the marks Marnik had left. She was surprised that could take so much damage and still not fall off. Staring at them for so long she didn't even notice the passage of time.
Marnik went to the very back of the vehicle leaning back on the counter it had for lab utensils. Closing his eyes he blocked of father sounds around him. Thinking back on his first time in this planet. Back when the plan was to kill all humans and make a utopia of animals from different planets. All those plans having gone to waste when the infection didn't work as planned.
Frowning when remembering the infection he'd set off in a city, how scared the people where seeing him. All running to a safety that didn't exist, what if she had been there? If he'd never gotten the chance to meet her, would he have killed her too?
Poking his head out he looked at her, their eyes locking in each other for a second. He hid back and sat at the back. She asked to be alone and here he was still annoying her.
Carisa spoke up so he'd hear, "Come sit with me."
He didn't miss a second and was right besides her. He didn't sit and just stood there to hear what she'd say.
She held a hand out to him until he took it with hesitation, "I did say sit."
He chuckled and did so, leaving space between them to not smother her. His hand intertwined in hers, "We can go back. Just wait a few days. I'm getting you to HQ, you'll meet new Alaois. Make friends, you'll... you'll like it..."
Tightening her grip on him and hearing him she bit her lip, "And what happens after that? Will I have to stay there? Or I'll always have to leave with your approval?"
"Not if you don't want to." He scratched his head, "I just want you to be happy... but I don't know how to do that."
Reaching up she hugged him and whispered, "Promise me we'll go back one day."
"I promise."
Unknowingly for them Amite and Ezhno had the door open just a crack. Amite smiled seeing them begin to get over what happened.
"Everything's fine again." Smirking at Ezhno she held a hand out for him, "Gonna give me your hand?"
He mumbled under his breath and grabbed her hand, "How long till they have another disagreement?"
She pulled him towards her and stopped the vehicle all of a sudden, "Don't say that. They'll be fine!" Continuing the drive while still holding his hand they got a call.
Looking at each other a second Ezhno picked up, "Hello commander."
"Have either of you heard of Marnik, we've been calling him for the past days. We fear he might be in trouble." Afemales voice came through different from the commander that had called Marnik.
Ezhno just continued to look at Amite, giving her a few seconds to tell him what to say before he answered himself. When she didn't react he spoke, "He's with us. Maybe he just forgot to send in a message."
"Oh... care to explain why?" The commander questioned.
"I'd rather not." He answered honestly.
The commander coughed and snickered, "Well tell him to come and explain to me. Or maybe Amite would like to explain if she's there."
"I'm here," Amite declared, "Marnik is asleep at the moment. Honestly he was feeling lonely so he's been with us the last couple of days. He also told us you're changing him to a different area. That explains why we're going to HQ, he wished to speak with you along with the other commander."
"I understand. I'll make arrangement to get you in, the infected had been out of control recently. We wouldn't want you to have inconvenience in your trip. Also let Marnik know I've called." With that said she hung up on them.
Amite let go of Ezhnos hand and pushed her hair up, "Did you have fun there? You're so hilarious, 'I'd rather not' you coward." She mocked him, "Hope you don't have my back like you take care of Marnik's."
"You know I've got your back." He reassured her.
"Shut up I don't wanna hear it."
Ezhno leaned back on his seat with his back turned to her, "I love you hun."
