Soft music played in the background while you cleaned up around the tavern. It smelled of alcohol but not enough that it would make you gag or want to leave immediatly.

As you cleaned up the counter your mind started to wander, many thoughts filling your head at the same time.

None of them really important, just your head trying to make you think of something entertaining while having to do a miniscule and boring job.

Not that you didnt love the winery, both you and Diluc have worked so hard on it but in all seriousness having to clean a counter and racks isn't something you really enjoy most of the time.

Especially when your all alone in the tavern, Diluc was running some errands and left you up to clean while he was gone.

Thankfully business wasn't booming as much today as it usually would, only a few customers popping in each hour. Usually you like having more customers since that brings more profit and they do like telling you random stories from their adventures or normal lives.

In this case though your grateful there haven't been as many today since that gives you a tiny bit of a break from all the work you usually have to be doing around the tavern and outside of it as well.

The sound of rain brought you back from your daydreams and as you look out the window the sky turns cloudy.

Fog encased the windows of the tavern and it suddenly got more chilly then it usually is.

You tried to not listen to loud thunder that boomed and tried to focus more on finishing up cleaning and doing your duties.

Just as you were finishing putting different arrays of bottles on the racks a sudden wave of drowsiness overcame you, now that you think about it, it really is getting late.

Sitting down on one of the stools at the counter, you doze off without even trying to. Sleep overcoming you and only one thought crossing your head before passing out, head lightly hitting the wood on the counter.

'Diluc should be coming back soon'

The sound of a door slamming shut surprisingly didn't wake you up. Your form was slouched on the counter, your head resting on your arms.

Diluc carelessly threw what he had in his hands to a corner which he probably won't remember about in a few minutes.

He reaches his hands upwards, towards  where his hairband is.

Red fiery locks are no longer encased in the high ponytail that he usually wears, some of it even softly falling on his face, but not enough that it would restrict his vision.

He shakes his head a little to move his hair and when he finally stops moving his faze falls on you.

Or well really a mop of hair and a few limbs collapsed on top of the taverns counter.

He didnt notice, but a small smile was set on his face once he saw you. He seriously loved you lots, not something he usually said out loud, but he showed it in other ways.

Boots thumped on the wood flooring as he walked up to you. His hand resting softly on your head and stroking your head for just a second.

The shiver that went down your spine didn't go unnoticed by him, and as he looks at his clothing he remembered why he in such a rush to get home.

Just while he was finishing his expedition, a small storm came through and he had to finish up early, reason being his outfit was fully soaked, and he was as well.

Something that wasn't soaked though and has been in his bag, was his coat.

Same coat that he just put on you for some warmth. Immediately after grabbing his coat and putting it on you, the cold seemed to not bother you.

Planting a small kiss on your forehead, he walks away to get changed. Not noticing the fact that you woke up when he put his coat on you.
