Description: Xiao can't help but be distracted once he meets you.

Note: I think I might make a part two for this so it shoes why Xiao acted the way he did, its also too cute not to make a part two. But gatta finish other requests first :p

You ran the streets of Liyue, Traveller and Paimon at your side as you all run away the city.

The three of you had just finished a few quests around the area and were headed towards Wangshu Inn to meet a certain adepti.

It was a, not so, short journey but you made it just in time before the sun started to set.

Paimon runs up ahead as you and the traveller walk up the stairs, already exhausted from having to walk so much.

As you reach the top of the stairs your met with nothing, the only thing up at the top of Wangshu Inn being plants and the setting.

The three of you walk towards the center of the platform and in the blink of an eye Xiao is there.

Eyes closed and arms crossed, he doesn't hesitate to start talking.

"Traveller, you called?"

He says it so confidently, yet when he opens his eyes he seems shocked to see you there.

Xiao had never met you before, he and the traveller had met only once before but you were defenetly not there for the first meeting.

Traveller starts talking before Xiao interupts him.

"Who are you?" The way he says it is so soft you barely heard it, for once his voice didnt sound so rough.

You introduce yourself before bowing your head slightly, a show of respect you liked to do each time you met someone new.

Xiao softly places his hand on your shoulder and lifts you up slightly as he looks back at you.

"You are my equal, formalities are not needed"

Everyone, including yourself, where shocked when he said that. He certainly hadn't said that when the traveller and Paimon had met him first. Plus he was an adepti, wasn't he higher then all of you?

Xiaos grip on you is as light as a feather, and as soon as he had placed his hand on your shoulder, it was gone.

He holds his hand close to his chest before he seemingly gets flustered, letting out a groan he cocks his head to the side.

"For your own sake I reccomend you leave. Now."

At that point you're all even more shocked. He was the one that pointed out you all called for him, so why was he all flustered now? It just didnt make sense.

Xiao quickly leaves you all and you just stand there not knowing what to do.

"We have to let him know about the geo archon...but how?" The traveller says, none of you had a clue what to do.

You run down the stairs, hoping Xiao was just joking and he was somewhere around Wangshu Inn.

But you're just met with dead silence and Very Goldlet at the front desk.

She smiles as you walk down the last few stairs, confusing written all over your faces.

"I see you've met Xiao"

And with that she asks you what was wrong, you explained what happened and she lets out a sigh.

"That can happen, but he isnt one to get flustered. Bribe him with some almond tofu, im sure he'll listen to you then"

You all now had plan, you just hoped it would work this time.

You slowly and carefully walk the steps back up to the top platform where you had last seen Xiao. Carefully you tighten your hold on the almond tofu and as you look up, Xiao is thankfully there.

Letting out a soft gasp Xiao looks back at you. His eyes widen and he becomes tense, but he doesn't run away.

"Xiao!"

Once he heard you say his name he froze completely, in the millions of times that he has heard people say his name, never has it left his heart racing as fast as it did in that moment.

"Its so nice to see you again, please don't leave this time I uhm...I made something for you" your tone was as soft as possible, you were scared that even a slight bit of an louder tone could ruin his mood in that moment and make him leave.

He hesitates as you walk up closer to him, at that time you completely forgot the traveller and Paimon were behind you.

Thankfully they were still at the top of the stairs, neither of them wanting to ruin the mood that was happening right now.

His hand reaches for the almond tofu, not certain on what you had in your hand at the moment.

But as he takes a closer look and sees his favorite dish, he smiled softly.

And with that, Traveller and Paimon walk up closer to the two of you.

Xiao immediatly digging in and the traveller speaking as fast possible before Xiao finishes and decides not to listen to what you all had to say.

Traveller quickly was able to explain everything and Xiao tried his best to listen while eating. Not only was he distracted by the food, but by you as well.

Never had someone captivated his thoughts so easily like you did, a boy with a vision really had his heart that easily?? He asked himself this repeatedly each time you met eye contact. The smile on your face made him feel something that wasn't hurtful for once.

As soon as Xiao finished his food, he answered the traveller with a quick response before clearing his throat.

"Now, I must get going" he says, but before he fully leaves his gaze moves towards you and meets your gaze.

His hand reaches up to his necklace and he takes off a bit of the thread, it was barely noticeable that he had broken it, and with his other hand he reaches for yours.

You open your palm and he places the thread in your hand.

His face was now red as ever, "keep that safe" and with that, he leaves.

Paimon rushes towards your, now enclosed, hand. Trying to pry it open but you keep it closed and close yourself. If Xiao said you needed to keep it safe, there was no way you would give it to Paimon. She could probably break it just from staring.

Even traveller wanted to see how it looked but you didn't let them.

You place the thread in locket, placing that locket in your bag. Making sure it was tightly closed and that it wouldn't fall out, you didnt want anything happenings to it.

You don't know how to explain it, but you know it's important.

Very important.
