"Mrs. Carrot-top Anderson, how's married life treating you?"
~~~~
Back in my Junior and Senior year, I hated the Warblers. Sebastian and his evil boyfriend stealing/blinding way, Hunter Clarington and his drugs and ...Blaine stealing ways. The Warblers just always wanted to steal Blaine, and I don't blame them have you seen him? Now though, I loved the Warblers. Our new batch was amazing and kind and so, so talented and I was their assistant coach, choreographer and photographer, isn't that weird. Blaine has this saying, There only four things you can count on in life, death, love, taxes and Dalton Academy, and to be honest - I agreed with him.
Blaine was in his element at Dalton Academy, it was obvious. We walked down the corridors, hand in hand and he fived pretty much ever student he walked past whilst I just offered them a kind smile. It was nice to see him so happy, when we first moved here he kind of lost his way, stopped gelling, stopped wearing bowties - and whilst he looked attractive as always, he just wasn't Blaine. But the Warblers, Dalton Academy and the reassurance that he always had me, he found his way again and was back, better than ever.
We shared an office at Dalton Academy, two desks side by side in the middle of the room. Both desks had plaques on them, Blaine's read 'Mr. Blaine Anderson, Coach of the Warblers' whilst mine read 'Mrs. Kara Anderson, Assistant Coach of the Warblers'. When they made my plaque, I told them to just put Anderson on it, since that was what the kids knew me as anyway and 'Mrs. Kara Riley-Anderson' was just too long. I could tell it made Blaine happy, whenever one of the Warblers called my 'Mrs. Anderson', and everyday I was considering more and more just changing my name to 'Kara Anderson'. The Riley name lives on with my sister, and it's not like I owe it to my parents to keep the name when they didn't even show up to my wedding.
When Blaine and I walked into the Warblers' rehearsal space and saw a girl standing there, I could tell it shocked Blaine a little. He kind of just stopped walking and I had to practically drag him a long. The girl turned around when she heard our footsteps and she looked almost relieved at the sight of another female. I smiled warmly at her as we approached.
"Excuse me?" She called out politely to us.
"Can we help you?" Blaine asked confusedly.
"You're Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, right? Um, my name's Jane. I'm...new to Dalton." Jane said nervously. I let go of Blaine's hand and stepped forward, shaking Jane's hand.
"Uh...what do you mean? You're a girl." Blaine asked, obviously still confused.
"Blaine." I hissed, my eyes widening at his blunt comment.
"My dad went to Dalton. And two of my uncles." Jane said as Blaine walked around her to open the door behind her and go out into the courtyard. I stepped away from Jane, following Blaine outside. "But then here I was, stuck at one of the lowest-performing public schools in Ohio, with no arts, no music. So my parents brought a Title IX lawsuit against Dalton Academy and won." Jane explained as we walked through the courtyard and into the parking lot, stopping at mine and Blaine's car.
"That's shocking." Blaine said, still very surprised by the situation. "I mean, that's-that's amazing."
"Thanks, that's nice to hear. Anyway, I talked to the Dean of Performing Arts, and he said I should talk to the two of you. I want to be a Warbler." She announced hopefully. I smiled brightly at her and nodded my head excitedly.
"Uh, uh, we'll get back to you on that." Blaine said, and I frowned then realised that the Warblers were traditionally all boys, so it was understandable they needed to talk about it, I suppose.
"Um, my husband and I will talk it over and come and find you later in the week?" I said, posing the statement as more of a question. Jane nodded her head and spun on her heel, walking off. Blaine just watched her in shock and I sighed quietly, this ws not going to be as straight forward as it should be.
