"You are the person I am meant to be with,"

"Laurie, are you gonna help me decorate this tree or not? I have a Tiff, Harry, George and a Daisy helping me, but there is no Lauren!" I shouted as I hung up one of the ornaments.

"Yes, yes, I'm sorry, I'm coming!" She shouted back, running down the stairs. "I was just grabbing something."

"Oh yeah? What?" I asked as she entered the room.

"This." She said, pulling out a box from behind her back.

"Am I supposed to know what this is?" I asked, peering down at the box. It was gold with a red ribbon, tied round it and a bow.

"Open it and stop being sassy." She said, pushing it towards me. I chuckled and took the box from her hands. Carefully untying the bow, I chucked the ribbon over my shoulder - planning on using it to tie my hair up since I didn't have a hair tie on me. I lifted up the lid of the box and my hand flew up, slapping over my mouth.

"Lauren, oh, my God it's beautiful." I said, picking up the present from the box. It was a microphone shaped bauble, cover in black and gold glitter with Sequins on it that spelled out Kara. I gently place the bauble back in the box and pulled my sister in the tightest hug.

"I'm guessing you like it?"

"Like it? I love it! It's amazing!" I exclaimed, pulling back and shaking her a little. She chuckled and picked up the box again, handing it to me. I took the bauble out of the box again and went over to the tree, hanging it on one of the higher branches. I felt a tug on my sleeve, when my hands dropped down to my sides again and I looked down at Daisy who was holding the star.

"Auntie Kara, can you help me put the star on top of the tree?" She asked hopefully. I smiled warmly down at her and nodded my head, crouching down to pick her up. I hoisted her into my arms and lifted her onto my shoulders so she could reach the top f the tree.

"No! I wanna put the star!" George whined, trying to reach up to the star and tug his sister down from my shoulders. Lauren quickly swooped him up, putting him on her own shoulders.

"You can both do it." She said, making the two children cheer loudly.

"Tiff, Harry do you wanna help?" I asked the two kids who were watching Home Alone on the TV.

"Nope! We're too old to put the star on the tree!" Tiffany exclaimed.

"Yep, that's for babies!" Harry said, picking at the popcorn in his lap.

"Okay, okay. How are we gonna do this?" I asked Lauren. She thought for a second before speaking.

"Okay, Georgie, hold onto one point of the star, Daisy, hold onto another point." They both did as there mother said and took the star, so they were both holding it. "Now, both of you put the star on the tree." Lauren and I took a step closer to the tree so the kids could reach better and they placed the star on the very top of the tree. I lifted Daisy off of my shoulders and cuddled her in my arms, spinning her around and making her giggle. I put her down on the sofa and kissed all four kids on the head.

"Lauren, I'm going to go start on dinner, spaghetti sound okay?"

"Sounds great, Kare-bear!" I headed into the kitchen and started getting the supplies out when I heard the door bell ring. Lauren answered the door and then I heard shouting.

"What are you doing here? Why are you here? You've put my sister through enough already, don't come here and try and ruin her Christmas Eve!" I heard Lauren shout. At the mention of me, I put down the tomatoes and ran into the living room.
