The dinner table was set beautifully, no doubt mom and Averleigh had planned it all week. There was a whole spread of different foods and now that I was finally better and spent all day in the sun I was famished.

I piled an assortment of meats and sides on my plate and began to eat, not at all caring that I may look like some stray animal that was handed a plate of food after days of starvation.

"Easy girl, there's plenty more!" Dad joked as I rolled my eyes and continued the assault on my plate.

"She reminds me of you honey." Spencer laughed as Averleigh raised her eyebrows in a questioning gesture.

"How is that?" She asked him.

"When you were pregnant with the twins and stopped getting sick, you would inhale any food out in front of you!" He laughed as my parents dropped their forks and Levi started to choke on his food.

"Oh god the morning sickness phase was terrible! I went through periods where I was sick for days and then I'd eat a bunch and then get sick all over!" Allie joined in.

"Britt was just sick for a few days." Anna chimed in as I finally finished my mouth of food.

"Yeah, too bad there is no possible way I'm pregnant." I stated as my dad let out a breath of relief.

"And how is that?" Levi smirked.

"Well I ..." I stuttered, not willing to bring up my sex life in front of our families again over dinner.

"See you don't even have an excuse. Maybe you should take a test." He teased me.

"Shut up Levi." I snapped back.

"Hit a nerve did I? Jesus how am I going to tell my friends my high school sister is pregnant." He continued dramatically putting his hand over his forehead in a fainting motion.

I was really trying to ignore it and let it go, but one glance at Riley's stiff demeanor had my emotions all over the place as I struggled to think of a way to redirect the conversation.

"How are you feeling Allie?" I asked trying to find a way out.

"Wait a second, Britt you're not pregnant are you?" My mother asked.

For some reason it felt like the air was thicker. I could feel my skin getting hotter. Everyone was staring at me from each angle of the table and the whole topic was just awkward. Why did family dinners always have to revolve around my sex life?

"No." I said apparently unconvincingly.

"How do you know?" She asked as I stiffened. I was not going to discuss this. Nope, no way. Honestly I'd rather let them kill me than discuss my sex life one more time.
"I'm waiting."  She continued when I didn't respond.

I was trapped and I knew it. As usual when I felt like this my body reacted on its own, tears filled my eyes and I knew it only made me look guilty.

"Can you all just stop." Riley spoke up, noticing how upset I was getting.

"Maybe you should have stopped and my sister wouldn't be knocked up in high school!" Levi grinned pouring more gas on the fire.

"Jesus, she's not pregnant!" Riley raised his voice as I stood up.

"I can't." I said as I backed away from the table.

"Britt don't you dare leave." Levi smirked as Grace shifted uncomfortably beside him.

He was being a dick and everyone knew it. Still no one but Riley was even trying to stand up for me, probably because they a thought he had uncovered some secret. Well he had, just not the one they were thinking.
