The ride to the cabin was tranquil, fun, flirty. As Riley's car winded around the side of the mountain, we sang to the radio, and took in the scenery. This trip would be perfect because it was just us. No distractions. Just two people finally spending some alone time without the problems of the world on their shoulders.

We made a pit stop at a little diner for dinner. It was only about fifteen minutes away from the cabin, but we were both starving and it saved us having to cook when we got there.

It was a quaint little log building with a small parking lot. Flowerpots lined the outside of the porch area as the light breeze rustled through the trees that coated the mountain side. The and inside was cute, the wooden log walls were covered in vintage signs and pictures of different sights on the mountain.

We took a small table at the back of the room and flipped through the laminated menus. It was a simple place offering your typical mom and pop foods and meat and threes. Our server Emma took our orders with a smile, looking at Riley a few seconds longer than necessary.

It made me laugh a little how oblivious he could be to the female attention he often got. I don't know if he just ignored it or if he genuinely didn't notice, but it was relieving to know that he only had eyes for me.

Our food came out pretty quick since the diner was remote and didn't seem like it had an influx of traffic. I had opted for chicken and dumplings with some broccoli and mac and cheese, while Riley was steadily assaulting a cheeseburger with his mouth.

"What is it? Do I have something on my face?" He asked when he noticed me holding in a laugh.
"Well actually yes, but I was laughing because I never realized how much of a dork you actually are!" I chuckled.

He used the back of his hand to wipe his mouth before he leaned back in the chair with his eyes still focused on me.
"Well, unless my new dork status makes you love me less I don't think it matters." He teased.
"Actually, I think I'm going to have to find a new boyfriend." I flirted.
"Oh really?" His eyebrows raised in challenge.
"Mhmm, maybe one that embraces his dorkiness because its actually really hot." I smirked.

He leaned forward and took both the straws from our glasses before putting themover his two front teeth and crossing his eyes.
"So if I act like this you'll love me more?" He asked as I almost spat out my mouth of food.

We both laughed for a while, finishing our food with big smiles on our faces as Emma returned with the check. She let out a deep breath when Riley kissed my hand over the table, but kept her smile and walked away.

We put a hundred dollar bill in the little black book to cover the meal and tip and got back in the car. Riley took my hand again once we were buckled in and we finished the rest of the trip to the cabin. The pictures did not do it justice at all.

The little cabin was vibrant, nestled between mature oak trees with a wrap around stained porch that had a porch swing hanging from the ceiling. As we stepped out of the car the only sound was the water running in a nearby stream playing in symphony with the birds chirping in thee trees.

I walked over to Riley and wrapped my arms around his waist, nuzzling my face in his shirt.
"Its perfect!"

We carried our luggage to the door as Riley got the key from the little lock box and took my bags, placing them with his on the floor behind him. Then he opened the door and turned around picking me up under my knees.

"Riles!" I squealed as he carried me over the threshold before lowering his face to mine.

I was still in his arms as he gazed into my eyes, his mouth a breath away from mine. I was smiling up at him as his lips parted and his eyes softened. I could feel him looking deeper than the surface, capturing the very depths of my soul and holding them in his palm of his hands.

Maybe that thought should terrify me, or at the very least scare me even slightly. I wasn't even a little scared at the thought though. I trusted him with every single part of me, and every moment we spent together reminded me that no matter what I told him or gave him, he would take care of it as if it were his own to protect.

I twisted my fingers in the back of his hair as our eyes stayed settled on each other. Gently he leaned down the rest of the way, his lips connecting with mine in an explosion of emotions. I pulled his head down, as my mouth opened and my tongue deepened the kiss.

I felt like my body was on fire. Every sensual stroke of the tongue, massage of lips intensified my feelings for him. Each feeling I thought I could ever feel- want, lust, love, need, all heightened in a way that made me whimper.

I didn't want it to end, but found myself chuckling when we finally pulled apart, breathless.
"I should get our bags in." he gasped.
"Yeah, plus we still need to look around!" I smirked.

He set me back down onto my feet as I took a tour of the cabin. The porch was beautiful, overlooking the mountainside on one side, and the stream on the other. The kitchen was modern, but still had that country charm to it. Sleek new appliances, without the overuse of fancy marble countertops gave it the mountain feel.

When I walked into the bedroom I couldn't help but smile. In the window bay of the room sat a jacuzzi tub that overlooked the mountain view through the large window. The bathroom boasted a stone stand up shower with a rain drop showerhead and I couldn't wait to try it out, after the hot tub and bath of course.

The there was the bed. The main focal point of the entire room. The large white bed with silk sheets that would be the place I would give myself completely to Riley and he would give himself to me in return. I ran my hands over the bed, admiring the towels that had been beautifully folded into flowers.

I turned when I heard riley drop our luggage behind me.
"Look, they made the towels into flowers!"
"That's awesome." He smiled before wrapping me in his arms. "So what do you want to do? It's too late to hike now." He said.
"Well, I guess we can just watch TV for tonight, then Hiking in the morning, hot tub tomorrow night after dinner and then home Sunday afternoon?" I suggested.
"Sounds perfect." He replied, "But before we sit down, lets unpack."

The rest of the evening was spent cuddling on the couch watching a variety of different movies under a knitted throw blanket. It was strangely awakening, being completely alone with Riley for a whole weekend. I felt more mature, more grown up somehow.

Riley must have carried me to bed at some point because I woke up with the sun shining through the window with his arm around my stomach, wrapped under those white sheets.

"Morning beautiful."
"Morning."
"You ready for a morning of hiking?"
"Yeah as soon as I shower."

When I was finally ready Riley locked up the cabin and we grabbed a quick snack from his car and set off on one of the trails just off the main road at the bottom of the long gravel driveway. My hand was nestled in Riley's as we trailed through the woods and across the mountains.

Riley had to help me a couple of times when the uphill trails got too steep, but I only slipped once. After we reached a beautiful lookout point that stood above miles of untouched landscape, we took a break. I took a few pictures of the views for my parents, and then a few of me and Riley. Then we headed back to the cabin.

"So I want you to go put on something nice, and then meet me outside in an hour!" Riley smiled.
"Okay?" I said, internally thanking my mother for insisting I bring at least one dress.

I took a quick shower, tying my hair up to avoid getting it too wet as I washed my body. Then I slipped on the white lacy thigh length dress. It was form fitting and covered just enough to not be trashy, but showed enough to be inappropriate for church like events.

When I was done getting ready I walked outside to see Riley sitting below some white string lights that hovered over the porch.

What really hit me wasn't the food on the table, which he had clearly made himself on the burning grill. It wasn't the candles lit around the porch, or the fact he had changed into some dress pants and a white button up. It was the effort and his sheer knowledge of what makes me happy that had my heart jumping out of my chest and my eyes brimming with happy tears.

How was I this lucky? And how long could this luck last? Because I knew in my heart I wanted it to last forever.
