This story is based on the song "The World Is Ugly" by My Chemical Romance. If you couldn't tell at this point, I really like them. I think they're a really good band. Anyways, this song is really beautiful and makes me cry a lot. This story is also rather short, less than 1000 words, so it's a quick read!

Hyunjin was sitting on the couch in the living room, eating some leftover food with the other members, all just talking amongst themselves. Suddenly, the door opened to which everyone turned their attention to, all quiet now. They watched as Jeongin walked into the room, head down, not sparing anyone a glance, making his way straight to his bedroom.
Everyone else looked at each other confused. They didn't know why Jeongin seemed so down when he walked in. Hyunjin was the first to stand, deciding that he would be the best person to talk to the younger member.
"I'll go check on him."
He made his way to the room that Jeongin had just entered, knocking softly.
"Jeongin? It's Hyunjin. Can I come in?" He spoke calmly and softly, trying not to scare the other.
There wasn't an answer. Hyunjin knocked again, still softly, thinking that maybe Jeongin hadn't heard him.
Soon enough, the door opened with Jeongin on the other side of the doorway. He still wouldn't look up at Hyunjin. He moved out of the way slightly for the elder to walk in.
Hyunjin sat on Jeongin's bed, opening his arms for Jeongin to climb into. Jeongin shut the door softly and shuffled over to Hyunjin, climbing into his lap and wrapping his arms around the other. He started to cry into Hyunjin's shirt, gripping his shoulders tightly as if he was afraid to let go.
Hyunjin rubbed his hand up and down Jeongin's back in an attempt to calm the other down.
"Shh. It's okay. What's wrong, Innie?"
Jeongin let out a few small sobs before answering.
"Th-th-they were all laugh-," he choked on his sobs that interrupted him as he spoke. "Laughing at m-me."
Hyunjin hugged the younger boy tighter than before, moving his head to the crook between his neck and shoulders, placing small kisses on his skin. This usually calmed him down, and Hyunjin hoped that it would work today.
It seemed to do the trick as Jeongin started to control his breathing and breathed deeper than previously. He was no longer crying as hard as he was before, feeling Hyunjin hugging him tightly and sensing his lips lay butterfly kisses on his skin.
"Who was laughing, baby?"
"Everyone. Everyone was laughing."
"Can I ask why?"
"I don't w-want to talk about it r-right now," Jeongin responded, his breath still slightly shaky. He tried his hardest to not think of all the insults he had received throughout the day.
"That's okay. You don't have to. I'm here for you, always. I'm not going to leave you anytime soon, okay?"
"Mhm."
They sat as they were for a while, not moving, besides Hyunjin's arms rubbing Jeongin's back. Eventually, Hyunjin grew tired of holding Jeongin in that position and moved them to lay down, still holding the younger boy in his arms.
"Can I tell you something, baby?" Hyunjin asked, pecking Jeongin's forehead repeatedly.
"What?" Jeongin whispered in response, letting the smallest smile take form on his lips when Hyunjin began kissing his forehead.
"The world may be harsh and ugly, and trust me, it is. But just know that you're always going to be beautiful to me. Always. Don't forget that, okay? I love you so much."
Upon hearing that, Jeongin had grown a small smile. He loved hearing things like that from Hyunjin because he knew that he meant it. He never lied about that.
"I love you too."
