Sorry I haven't been posting a lot lately, I've just been really stressed with school and stuff. But spring break is coming up, so hopefully I'll be able to get some more stories out during that.
This story is based on the song Drugstore Perfume by Gerard Way. It is a sad song about a girl who lives in a small town and wants nothing more than to leave, but then she meets this guy in a bar, and they unknowingly fall for each other, and so then when she leaves, he's really sad but happy for her for finally getting out of the place that they both hate.

It was raining and cold, something that no one ever really enjoyed. Especially not Felix. It was most unfortunate that he had been caught outside when it started and had no way of protecting himself from the falling water or the dropping temperature. He hugged his arms tightly around his torso in a poor attempt to conduct some body heat as he looked around desperately for someplace to hide in until the storm passed hopefully quickly.
A small park nearby had some shelters, used mainly for people having a family day, but in this instance, he figured it would be okay to steal one temporarily. He ran over to one of the structures and sat on top of the picnic table since all the seats were soaked with rain.
He looked around to see if anyone else was in a similar situation as him, but it seemed everyone there had known that it was going to rain as they all had umbrellas or rain jackets to cover themselves. Felix sighed to himself at his stupidity for not checking the weather before going out for a walk. He didn't think it would rain, especially not this hard considering it hadn't rained in the past month.
He curled himself into a small ball on the table and watched some people walk by as if it were sunny and warm. It amazed him that there were people that didn't mind getting caught in the rain like that. Some people rather enjoyed it, and he couldn't wrap his mind around it.
He didn't live in a big city or even a big town, so there wasn't much he could do for fun. Taking walks or driving around aimlessly was his go-to for entertainment. He had always wanted to leave and go somewhere more prominent and modern. Somewhere that would hopefully have a younger population. He liked the town that he lived in now, it was nice and quiet, but after living there for the whole twenty-two years that he's been alive, it got boring. There wasn't anything special about that town. It wasn't like those small towns that were advertised as being pleasant or historic. That town was boring and old but not clean, so it didn't have the historic feeling that other places might've given off.
The town wasn't rich either. There was a lot of poverty there. There wasn't anything pretty to look at unless you would call the homeless single mothers on the streets pretty. There weren't any attractions in the town beside a relatively large food market and a couple of clothing stores, but there wasn't anything other than that.
Felix knew most people in the town, but he wouldn't consider any of them friends. He could start a conversation with them if he saw them, and occasionally they would hang out with each other just walking around, but they were never really close.
Seeing the people pass by him while he was sitting on the table gave him a feeling of dread. He wasn't sure why but out of nowhere, he wanted nothing more than to leave the town. He had no money, and he knew nothing outside of that small town, but he knew that he needed to leave. He could feel his emotions rising in his system slowly as he kept thinking about it. He felt as though he were about to shatter entirely as he sat there.
He let out an aggravated sigh as he lowered himself off of the table. He mustered enough courage to walk through the rain to somewhere to take his mind off all the thoughts running a million miles an hour in his head. Maybe feeling the water soak through his clothes would be enough to help calm him down. He knew that looking around at all the people in the gloomy setting of the day wasn't going to help.
