Not based on any song, just saw one of those prompt things on pinterest and liked the idea, so here we go!

The worst feeling is having a crush on your friend and not being able to do anything about it. Just sitting there and watching them do the most basic tasks, stumbling a few times because they're clumsy, and finding it the most adorable thing ever while not being able to comment on it platonically was not what Chan would call a fun Friday night.

Unfortunately, that's what he was stuck doing currently. He was sitting at the kitchen table watching his long-time friend, Jeongin, attempt to make him a meal. Chan wanted to help, but Jeongin insisted on doing it himself since he wanted to show his gratitude to the elder for helping him nail his orchestra auditions.

"Um, Jeongin... the butter's burning..." Chan commented, smelling the butter from his seat while Jeongin was busy peeling some potatoes. "Are you sure you don't want any help?"

"Oh shit!" Jeongin yelled, dropping the potato on the counter and scurried over to the stove to attend to the now burnt butter. "No, I don't want help. I can do this myself!"

"Innie, this is your third attempt today to cook. Please don't waste all my food," Chan sighed.

Jeongin carried the pan over to the sink and washed it once more before drying it and placing it back on the stove. He was about to grab the butter knife and put more butter in the pan before Chan yelled at him.

"Don't put it in now! Wait until you're done with the potatoes and then put it in. It's not going to take long for it to melt and get hot."

"Oh, true. See, you're smart. That's why you're here," Jeongin chuckled, tapping his finger on the side of his head.

"Also, this is my house..."

"That's not important."

Jeongin walked back over to the trash can where he was peeling the potatoes and picked the starchy vegetable back up. He continued to peel where he left off.

Finally, after twenty more minutes, everything was peeled and washed and ready to cook. He walked over to where he set his phone down to peek at the recipe. The screen was off, so he quickly dried his hands and went to turn it back on.

After tapping the screen and pressing the power button repeatedly, he realized that his phone had died. He rolled his eyes and groaned, getting frustrated about every small thing going wrong. Chan found it absolutely adorable to see him stomp around, annoyed about the circumstances.

Jeongin turned to face Chan, growing even more irritated seeing the dumb smile on his face. "Give me your phone."

"What's the magic word?" Chan teased in a mocking tone.

"Fuck you."

Chan gasped and covered his mouth, not expecting that response. "Well that definitely isn't the magic word. Here." He grabbed his phone from the table and unlocked it before handing it over to Jeongin.

Jeongin took it and glared at him for a second. "Thanks," he said reluctantly.

The younger walked back to the counter to continue cooking. He leaned back against the counter, moving to the side slightly so that the handle of the drawer wasn't poking his butt.

He opened the search browser and stopped immediately. Chan saw him freeze and got nervous. Why did he stop? What did he see? Did he accidentally forget to close some tabs?

"Everything good?" Chan asked nervously, awaiting Jeongin's response.

"Who are you trying to flirt with?"
