This turned out much longer than I had initially thought it was going to be, but I'm not mad about it. It's 4,119 words. Also, it's unedited, so if there are any discrepancies in the detail, that's my bad.

It's said that your dreams develop from your memories, good or bad. Whatever you dream about, as weird as it might be, it's something that you've seen or experienced before. It's just been taken out of context. But if that were the case, why was Chan constantly dreaming about a man he's never met before? His face was completely unfamiliar, and his voice didn't sound like anything he had heard before.
In his dreams, he would see the man talking to him like they knew each other. There was no introduction, no getting to know each other. They had already gotten past that part, it seemed. The conversation they would have would start from where they left off the night before. It was almost too real for Chan and confused him immensely.
Chan had never talked to anyone in the way that the two were talking in his dreams. It was domestic and loving for the most part. Almost like they were in a relationship, which Chan had never been in. They would talk about things ranging from what they wanted to eat later to things as graphic as sex that they apparently had.
The whole environment was strange. As dim as it was, he could make out a few details on the walls of whatever building they were in, but all he could tell were that they were pictures. He could never see what of. The building they were in looked old and run down. The floor and table they were sitting at were dusty. There was also a lit candle between them. It was a major fire hazard in Chan's mind, but he knew it was just a dream and didn't think excessively of it.
He couldn't pinpoint when the dreams started; they just did. The first dream about the man that he could remember, they were sitting in the same place with the same candle between them at the same table. The conversation they had started with Chan asking about pets and whether they wanted to get any together and later merged to children. Something Chan knew he didn't want.
The dreams then picked up from there, and now anytime he dozed off even slightly, his mind would be filled with images of the man. It got to the point where he looked for him in the people he saw at his job. Working in real estate, he didn't see many different people all the time, but anytime there was a packed open house, he would subconsciously look for him.
It never worked. He never showed up.
Chan looked over the list of names of the people who signed up to attend. He knew that more people would join even if their names weren't on the list since there were signs outside all over the city with the house's address. People were bound to show up, especially since it was one of the more exquisite and spectacular houses on the market, listed at a steep price of $55,000,000. People would show up to see it even if they were nowhere near able to buy it just to see what $55,000,000 could buy them if they had the money.
The open house officially started at noon, and it was thirty minutes before. People were crowding the house already, and Chan made a point to meet everyone that showed up. Most of the people who had shown up were older and clearly wealthy, so Chan did his best to make a good impression. He was willing to do whatever he had to to get that $1.92 million check.
That was when he walked in.
He was dressed almost the same as everyone in the house with a formal light blue button-up dress shirt and black dress pants. Much different than Chan had seen him in his dreams. He was dressed casually in a t-shirt and shorts in Chan's mind, so seeing him dressed up wasn't much of a surprise considering why he was there, but it was more intriguing.
