This story isn't based on any song, just some fluff that came to mind!

-------------------------

Seungmin drove up to Hyunjin's home. They had agreed to hang out and go on a car ride for a little bit. It had been a while since they've hung out, and they missed each other greatly. On his drive there, he was blasting music from a playlist the two had made together. It had songs that both of them liked, some that only Hyunjin liked, and some that only Seungmin liked, but the playlist overall was one that they both loved.

He turned the volume down as he approached the house, not wanting to disturb the neighbors since it was rather late, and they were most likely sleeping. He parked his car and turned it off. He walked up to the front door and knocked, waiting for an answer.

After a few moments of pure silence except for the crickets chirping quietly, Seungmin took his phone out and texted Hyunjin, letting him know he was outside. Seungmin figured he hadn't heard the knock, so he did so once more, louder this time.

The door promptly opened this time, revealing Hyunjin, all dressed and ready to go.

"Sorry, I was still getting ready," he apologized and walked out of the house and toward Seungmin's car.

Seungmin couldn't help but smile at how dramatic Hyunjin had dressed just for a car ride. He had a full face of makeup, his hair was styled, and he was dressed to the nines. He had put on a suit jacket and button-up with a nice pair of dress pants.

"You know we're not going anywhere, right?" Seungmin asked, just so that Hyunjin would know for sure that they were just sitting in a car, driving and listening to music for several hours.

"Yeah, I know," Hyunjin said, and suddenly pouted. "Should I change? Is this too much?"

"No, no, not at all. You look great; I just wanted to make sure you knew that we're not going anywhere."

They both got into the car, Seungmin putting the key in the ignition and turning it on, and pulled away from the house.

Seungmin had a couple of routes for when he went on car rides by himself and decided to combine them all since they were all connected in some way for an extra-long and fun ride. The two of them both enjoyed going for car rides late at night. They liked the darkness surrounding them, the lack of traffic and people outside, and they liked seeing the city lights surround them.

What made these car rides even better was that Seungmin had a convertible. It was one of their favorite features of the car, even though when Seungmin first got the car, he wasn't too keen on the idea of a convertible because he thought he would never use it. Now, it was one of the most used car functions besides the Bluetooth stereo.

It was rather cold that night, so Seungmin kept the top up, for the time being, figuring he wouldn't want to make Hyunjin chilly. But Hyunjin didn't seem to care much.

"Can you put the top down? I like feeling the wind," he smiled excitedly, looking over at Seungmin.

"Okay."

Seungmin pulled into an empty parking lot of a closed store and parked in the back. He pulled a button back on the center console and watched as the trunk opened up and the roof of the car started going into it.

"Better?" Seungmin asked.

"Yes!"

Seungmin smiled at the other, amused at how the other didn't seem to care about anything at the moment. He waited for the trunk to close completely before getting back onto the main road. Hyunjin turned the music up louder, most likely annoying anyone who pulled up next to them. He was dancing wildly in his seat, and Seungmin looked over to watch him at every red light.

Seungmin eventually pulled onto a two-lane road, where there were no lights and no other people. The only thing around them were the trees that lined the road. The wind had gotten relatively strong, but neither of the two seemed to be bothered by it. Hyunjin kept dancing along to the music as Seungmin sang along and drove.

The song ended, and Hyunjin calmed down, sitting calmly in his seat now. Because he wasn't moving anymore and had no distraction, he started to notice how cold it had actually gotten. He started to shiver in his seat softly but tried not to make it too obvious. He reached toward the dash to turn the heat to the highest, knowing that his effort was probably in vain with the roof and windows down.

Even though Hyunjin tried to play off as not cold, Seungmin could tell he was by how small Hyunjin had made himself in his seat and how hot he had made the car. Seungmin had figured that they would eventually put the top down, and he knew it was cold, so he had worn a rather thick jacket. Luckily for Hyunjin, Seungmin also kept a couple of spares in the backseat in case something like this happened. Hyunjin just didn't know about them.

Seungmin slowed down and pulled the car over to the side of the road. Hyunjin became perplexed as to why he had stopped the car.

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, everything's fine," Seungmin responded. He reached into the backseat of the car to grab one of the biggest and warmest jackets that he had and handed it to Hyunjin. "I figured you would want this."

Hyunjin took the jacket and was grateful.

"Thank you," he said quietly. He slipped the hoodie on over the suit jacket he was already wearing.

Seungmin looked at the road before pulling back onto it and continuing their ride. Seungmin continued driving for hours, never getting tired of watching the road. The songs that kept playing and Hyunjin dancing and singing along to them helped. He loved seeing the older get excited like this.
