Chapter 3
// Catherine
Impatience was what had me overwhelmed as I stood at the arrivals gate of the airport, my mind inevitably wishing for the next figure to be the one I was impatient to see, as each one passed by.
One month of being without him -- I could never place that feeling of missing him into words. It was unexplainable how much I had yeared to hear his voice, his perfect laugh; to feel his touch and have his tender and loving kisses.
My toes decided to point themselves, allowing me to rise above my usual height so I could peer more attentively to find my Irishman in the pack of people. After about a few more minutes of searching and scrutinising the crowd followed, a familiar face caught my eye. Zayn strode fast amidst the crowd of people, seeming as though he was in a hurry to reach somewhere right then, my eyes immediately flicking back and forth, desperate to catch a hold of that one lovable face.
A wide smile broke free from my lips, as the fair haired boy in a green snap back came into view. The thought of finally being able to be with him, sunk in, along with the happiness that an end was finally put to all those terrible days of living in his absence.
The only sort of alteration being done to my smile, was its widening by the second. The excitement in my blood multiplied as each second passed by.
"Niall!" I screamed out in pure ecstasy, not being able to hold in my exhilaration anymore. He didn't hear me though.
"Niall!" I called his name out for the second time. He didn't notice again, although my loud, rather bizarre, screams were catching almost everyone else's attention.
Unable to hold in my urge of wrapping myself around him, I ran straight ahead towards his arms, not even having a second thought about how foolish my act seemed, considering the fact that there were paparazzis all around.
I was about to spread my arms wide, grinning ecstatically at my precious Irishman, when I suddenly felt someone tug at my arm. The tug soon turned into a strong grasp, forcefully pulling me back away from Niall.
"Stay away from him." A large figure looked down at me with grim eyes.
"\What do you mean? I'm Catherine, his fiancé! Lemme go!" I struggled to free myself from that man's grip grip.
"Do you not hear me lady? You've caused enough trouble already; just stay away from him." He gritted through a clenched jaw.
I didn't know who he was. I didn't know why I was being told the things he said to me. But I knew for sure, that my Niall was as impatient to see me, as I was.
Deciding to ignore the inane man stood in front of me, I screamed out once again. "Niall, I'm here!" I waved my hands back and forth, frantic to catch his attention.
Niall did turn around this time, making the smile on my face reappear.I could feel the crinkles by my eyes as he looked at me, but then those crinkles disappeared. With a short glance in my direction, he looked away. It seemed as though I was someone he wanted to ignore, a face that he never wanted to see. He continued walking towards the exit not caring that I was there, that someone was forcefully trying to keep me away from him.
"Niall-"
"He doesn't want you anymore." The man interrupted me. "He knows he's better off without a burden like you, now would you please do him the favour of leaving him alone!" The man vigorously jerked my hand off before waltzing off to join the rest of them.
