Chapter 10

// Brianna

“Is it just me, or London cereal tastes acutely different,” The girl in front of me scrunched her eyebrows questioningly. “good different,” She added, grabbing a spoon full of frosties between her teeth.

“It is you,” I slurped in the contents of my spoon. “It’s the excitement.”

“So be it then,” She chimed in, stirring her spoon inside the bowl, making occasional clinking sounds against the porcelain.

“By the way, I hadn’t had a chance to talk to you 'bout something last night,” She smirked, eyeing me somewhat deviously.

“'bout what?” I asked, unmindfully.

“No, just the famous blondie you seem to have settled on at last,” She smugly informed, now acting ever so nonchalant about her query.

“Huh?”

"Go on, act like you don’t know what I’m trying to imply," She sang, confidently.

"Wait," I said, realising what she was going on about. "No way, shut up! He's my best friend!" I glared, stunned as to what all was actually buzzing through her little brain.

"Well, haven’t we all heard of how friendship is always the first step towards love," She hummed, so suggestively.

 “Talking a little too mature for our age now, aren’t we?” My eyebrow raised itself into a quirk.

"Guess who’s officially twelve today," She reminded.

 "And that totally gives you the right to offer me love-advice?" I scoffed at the little girl.

"Sister-advice you could say; I’m only being thoughtful,” She dramatically exhaled.

"For the record, we’re friends and we can never think ‘bout each other that way, little miss," I declared, shaking my head at her absurd presumptions.

"You know though, I totally ship you two," She stated, as I diverted my attention to the transparent glass I was pouring water into. "And that's like, saying something you know, I'm a Niall girl. I hardly ship anyone with Niall."

“Whatever the hell shipping or boating means, I’m sure I’m not with you on this.” I stated, disappointing her at my lack of enthusiasm in the subject.

“Aren’t you so excited for the evening Rose,” I wiggled my eyebrows enthusiastically, attempting to distract her from the current absurd discussion she was on with.
