Chapter 9

// Brianna

“As thrilling as London is, I don’t get why I’m being taken all the way there, now,” A cocked eyebrow was displayed my way, as two arms crossed against her chest, disapprovingly.

"It’s gonna be worth it, as I said," I sung, heaving our bags into the overhead compartment of the train, completely aware of that unhappy face the young girl was sporting.

"Millionth time I'm hearing that! Stop being vague Brynn, I had plans with friends, and…” It was a loud huff that escaped my younger sister, as I placed myself beside her. I gently tucked in a brown strand of her hair behind her ear, finding her stubborn to face me.

"And Jake was supposed to be there too," I finished for her, referring to the tween’s crush, as I poked into her side, a shy giggle escaping her simultaneously.

"He’s not the only friend I have," She defensed, suppressing the smile trying to creep its way out through her lips.

“He sure isn’t just a friend, from what I reckon. Maybe something along the lines of a cr-rush,” I mocked, purposely lingering on the last word.

“Rosie got no time for crushes. I love Niall and Niall only.” She smugly declared, causing a rather heavy chuckle to escape me this time, as I replied.

“You’re gonna love this, Rose, I promise.” I stated amidst my laughter, not quite having the convincing effect on her, but I sure as hell was right.

After a brief account of the journey time and a few instructions regarding safety on board flying in through the speakers, the train engine had itself ignited, kicking off on its way to our destination.

It was a rather tiring 4 hour long journey later, that we reached the busy city of London. Hauling our minimal luggage into one of those traditional black-cabs from outside the train station, my little sister and I were on our way to the small flat in Baker Street, that I resided in.

The squeals of admiration off Rosie spoke very well for her sudden excitement, the dissatisfaction for being brought here having finally dwindled, to my relief – not that it wasn’t going to happen anyway, soon. Even the freaking trashcans looked stylish according to her, not to mention the red double-decker buses, the sight of the Thames Bridge, the Big Ben, the London Eye, and basically anything and everything on the roads had her squeaking in delight.

I must admit, not having my little excited sister, have a clue of what was awaiting her, was way too thrilling in itself. I sure did intend to keep it that way until the next day, because the priceless look on her face and her screams of joy when she finally gets her birthday surprise, was totally something to be hyped over and her current behaviour was only adding to my excitement.
