Lin rummaged through trinkets, knick knacks and a few small items laying messily on top of her dresser. She was desperately searching for something and getting frustrated. She went through her drawers one by one until she spotted a letter buried deep under the stack of books and magazines. She remembered throwing it there in a rush and had forgotten about it in the midst of all the chaos.

She sighed in relief. She didn't think she'd ever find it.

She plucked the letter out, opening it with great care, paying attention to the note written inside.

It's Shin's new address in Singapore. He had written the note in a heartbeat on the evening of his departure.

He handed it to her and said, "don't forget to text, call or write." Unable to mask the angst in his voice.

Lin kissed his lips and promised to do so every time she get a chance.

Lin missed him so, just about as much as Shin probably miss her also.

If only she has a way of contacting him without his father or Ms. Bing ever finding out.

It would help it she has a phone but even a phone is a luxury she doesn't have. Lin doesn't own anything. Everything was taken from them when her father filed for bankruptcy.

And as though losing everything wasn't bad enough, she was offered as payment for a debt her father couldn't pay off.

Who would borrow money from a gangster?

Only a stupid man like her father.

She looked at the letter again, thinking of ways to contact him. The first thought in her mind was to ask for permission for a day off even though she had never had a day off since moving to the mansion. The only time she was ever outside was back when she used to go to the nearby school, but that also changed soon after she picked up home schooling.

Maybe, I could ask Rin to let me borrow her phone?

But that'll probably just get her in trouble.

She slumped on her chair defeated when a beam of light caught her eyes. She peeked out the window and saw that a car in arriving from the gates.

It was Li Jun's brand-new Aston Martin, he came home unusually early today.
