The ambience was with pure elegance. Classic chandelier hung on ceiling, the focal point of the restaurant. The interior was decorated handsomely with imported accessories from Italy. Porcelain plates and crystal chalice. Even the receptionists and waiters were dressed in posh uniforms.
It's a restaurant inside a members only clubhouse. Another one of Li Jun's many exclusive venues and this time, it's a place that is unfamiliar to Lin.
"Bet you've never been here before." He teased.
Lin admired the exceptional room with her mouth parted. "Probably because there's nothing but old people here."
A teasing smile drawn up on her lips.
Li Jun was hardly offended. "How old do you think I am?"
Based from what Shin told her...
"34, Shin told me you had him at sixteen."
Too young to be a father. Something tells Lin that he might've always loved and enjoyed sex, to be a father at sixteen.
"That's right. Not. that. old."
He placed a graceful hand on her arms, reeling her to move in his direction over to the outdoor sitting area. That is where he likes to enjoy the relaxing ambience and where scenery. They were readily greeted by a handsome waiter who recognized Li Jun right away and escorted them to his favorite spot.
Heads turned as they made their way. Most of the guests where Li Jun's acquaintances. CEOs, business owner, and politicians who had tangled in dirty business with him. Lin recognized some of them but no one she can name of on top of her head, except for Ms. Chao.
Ms. Chao is an opulent business woman, her family had done numerous businesses with Lin's family before. She can recall her father meeting with her on lunches when she was younger.
Lin glanced over Mrs. Chao's way, she couldn't help but acknowledge a familiar face. Ms. Chao wore a rather curious face as their eyes met and watched with intensity where Li Jun and Lin are being seated.
"Too many nosy people here." He can only imagine how fast gossip ignite and spread like wild fire.
"Everyone is watching." She exhaled uncomfortable.
Li Jun leaned over and whispered. "Don't worry about them.
Lin picked up and scanned the menu when one of the guests came over with a greeting. "Are you by any chance, Yoon's daughter?"
She gave a surprised nod. She didn't think anyone would recognize her, it's been a least a few years since she moved to the Lim's household.
The woman exclaimed and clasped her hand to her mouth. "My, god. I thought you were dead. We all did."
Lin shook her head, she can appreciate the woman's concern. "Who?"
"Everyone!"
Li Jun dragged his finger on his cellphone browsing through his apps, emails, weather, anything that can keep him occupied while Lin entertained Ms. Chao.
He was rather calm until her heard the alarming conversation. His instinct told him to do something or else Lin is going to find out something she shouldn't.
"That's enough." Li Jun reached for the woman's arm.
The woman reacted with alarm, her face reddening.
"Please, I don't want my company to be upset." He apologized.
The woman swallowed and calmed, she can very well understand what Li Jun is trying to convey.
Li Jun forced a smile, the glimmer of his eyes begged for the woman to leave them alone.
At long last, the woman got the hint and gave an agreeing nod.
Li Jun released her from his hold, hoping she part in peace but she was adamant upon giving Lin her condolences. Her hand grasped Lin's shoulder, her facial expression softened full of emphaty.
"I'm sorry about your mother, I heard about everything your father did."
Before Li Jun could get up from his chair to drag Ms. Chao away, Lin asked. "What about my mother?"
Ms. Chao was suddenly taken aback, confusion written all over her face. "Didn't you know? Your father had your mother killed for insurance money."
Li Jun knew right then he'd been too late. Lin's reaction was everything.
