Shin is not only good looking, he's also very rich. He can have his cake and eat it too.
If he wants.
Shin brushed his jet black hair in the bathroom, staring at the mirror for a long while. He smiled, wiped off his smile, and smiled again, seemingly unhappy with the first one.
Shin practiced his smile one more time and found one he's satisfied with.
He's the outgoing, extroverted kind of jock. He's friendly, sociable and talkative. He gets along with everyone and liked by everyone.
He's quite the charismatic.
So, it shouldn't be so hard for him to get accustomed to new school, new country and new apartment, right?
Well, Shin is also the type of guy who can mask his inner turmoil with a smile. He wears his smile like a second skin. No one can ever know what he's going through. He wears a facade of happiness twenty four hours a day.
Shin placed the comb in the counter and left the bathroom. It's 7:30 in the morning and his first class begins at 8:30 am. He has to leave his apartment an hour early to make time for traveling, and of course, mingling with his fellow popular university students.
One if them is Janet. Janet is an exchanged student from the Philippines. She has an inviting smile, large eyes and thick black hair that cascades down to her waist. She's one whom an opposite sex would easily find attractive. Not only that she also speaks perfect Mandarin.
Offers of wealth and good life comes in waves. Old businessmen she meets on her part time job waitressing at an exclusive restaurant tries to woo her with large tips and gifts - while men in her classes offers her a chance of citizenship.
She wants none of them. Because what she finds so attractive and alluring is the brightest jem of them all.
"Hi Shin." She smiled and waved at him. Her set of pearly white teeth showing.
Shin turned to the sound of his name. He recognized the voice that called him. He returned a big handsome smile. "Oh hey there short stack."
It was a nick name he'd given her due to her height.
Shin stood a staggering 6'2 while Janet stood only at 5'0.
Janet rushed towards him. One arm coiling around his waist. She felt comfortable enough show this this kind of affection knowing Shin wouldn't mind.
Shin threw his arm around her shoulder, pulling her towards him - so that she doesn't have a choice but to lean her entire body against him.
"Who're you calling short stack?"
"You, who else am I talking to?"
"U-uuum, not me."
Shin chuckled. "You're the only one here shorty."
