Janet wandered into the massive kitchen. It was one of those dreamy kitchen she only sees in home magazines or home decorating channels. Sheets of marble for flooring, expensive wood detailed the cabinetry, crystal lighting and chandelier hung on the ceiling and quartz for countertops.

She admired it with her mouth agape soaking in the details of everything she sees

She admired it with her mouth agape soaking in the details of everything she sees. She pulled her cellphone out of her pocket and began taking pictures for her personal collection. Inspiration for her future kitchen, clicking on her phone excitedly until she walked right into the large island.

Ooops!

Her eyes landed her sight on another woman.

A woman just about her age, or maybe a year or two younger, stood on the other side of the kitchen. She wore posh clothing, a figure hugging lilac dress and espadrille.

Janet observed her. There's a elegance in the way she looks and the way she moves that told Janet she has been rich all her life.

There are certain manerisms that separates the poor from the rich and Janet picked it up in a glance, figuring her for a wealthy socialite.

That's strange. Shin never once mentioned a sister.

The woman lifted her gaze to Janet, noticing the prick of her stare. Her lips twisted into a soft smile and strode easy steps towards her.

"Try the macaroons." She offered, pushing a small plate to her.

Janet looked at the macaroons, it shimmered with gold shavings sprinkled on top. She has no doubt it's delicious but who waste money on gold shavings on a pastry?

Janet didn't know whether to be appalled or be impressed. She wanted to take the macaroons and sell them. She calculated how much she could sell them for and how much money she could send back to her family.

Rich people has insensitive ways of wasting money.

Janet picked up the pastry and nibbled on it. "It's good."

The girl smiled again. "I thought you'd like it. It's the best recipe our chef makes."

They have a personal chef in their employment too?

The girl placed the plate down. Janet noticed the unsteadiness in her hand that wasn't there before. A sudden anxiety that came out of nowhere.

"Forgive me, I must go." The girl muttered politely, she looked up passed Janet and through the door, sensing another person coming to join them.

"It was nice to meet you Janet." The girl said before rushing out of kitchen like she was being chased out of there.

That's odd. How'd she know my name?

"There you are. I've been looking all over for you."

"Shin!" Janet turned around to the sound of his voice.

"So you found the kitchen. Are you hungry?"

She shook her head, her jet lag confused her appetite. "No. I got lost walking around and wind up here."

"Oh common, you must be hungry. You haven't eaten anything since we left Singapore. I could have the chef make whatever you want."

"Really, there's no need." Janet picked up the golden macaroon she was nibbling on and finished it. "I just swallowed someone's whole month's salary."

"Shin laughed. Those are faux gold. It's nothing but food coloring and sugar."

"Is that so?" She looked at the whole tray of them from the far corner. Her blood sugar can use a little balancing. "In that case, I'll eat more."
