Shin merely shook his head in response. But Lin could tell just with the way his eyes looked at a distance that he was in deep thoughts and bothered by it.
"How about we go to the park?" Lin invited casually. It's the least she can do. After he took her out to a sold out concert. "It's the middle of the afternoon, and some of the rides are fixing to start soon."
"Park?" Shin repeated. He's not a child anymore. But then again, who's going to stop him from having fun at a park?
"Yeah! Park!" Lin nudged Shin by the hips. "I'll get your mind off things. I promise."
Shin thought for a second, he doesn't have anything else to do and heading back home isn't in his schedule. "Well, if you're that desperate on taking me on a date..."
Lin made a sour face. "You wish."

It was past midnight by the time they made it back home. They both had so much fun that they completely lost track of time.
Shin and Lin entered through the main door of the mansion, wide simpers pressed upon their lips, their energy was intoxicating, like two young couple falling in love with each other.
If only that was the case. Shin and Lin had been close enough to each other that there's no boundaries getting in the way. No awkwardness of being exes or unresolved feelings still hung up on each other. It was either that or they were good at hiding it.
Shin made his way to the edge of the stairs leading up to his room but not without stopping first, he wanted to thank her for the good time they shared.
Lin was already on her way to the hallway to disappear when he called her name. "Lin."
Lin turned halfway back to him.
"Thanks for the evening."
A soft smile caressed her lips. "Anything to make you happy, Shin."
Lin soon climbed the stairs to the other side of the mansion, careful upon being found out. She knew there are plenty of housekeepers still awake, still wandering about - afraid of the gossip she could stir if someone were to see Shin and her walking up the stairs together.
Writer's note: little too late for that.
She allowed herself inside Li Jun's bedroom which he had left unlocked for her, quiet as she stalked her way in. The dark room seemed so comforting and inviting, especially with Li Jun already laying naked under the sheets, purring in his sleep.
For a short moment she paused and stood there admiring him.
"Where'd you been?" Li Jun groaned awake. He'd woken up sensing her in the room.
"You're awake?"
"Am now." He answered, his voice groggy and hoarse. "Where'd you been?" He asked again, arm extending out to her.
Lin stepped closer and allowed Li Jun to grab her. "I've been out with Shin. You know he hasn't been himself lately."
Lin didn't have to tell Li Jun of Shin's well being. Shin and him may not get along in the surface, but he cares deeply for his son to know when he's not himself.
He pushed himself halfway up, and reeled her close enough where he could wrap his arm around her waist and feel the heat of her body against him. "Is that so?"
Lin leaned over to kiss his mouth.
"We rode the ferris wheel and ate a lot of junk food."
"Sounds like a date to me." Li Jun murmured. "Are you trying to make me jealous?"
"No!" She protested. "A date?"
"Yes."
"What're you going to do about it?" She dared.
"I guess I'm going to have to make it clear to him your mine." He groaned and kissed her neck.
She let out a chuckle, huskier than she had meant it to be. "Show me." She whispered and Li Jun didn't think twice about the invitation pulling her into the bed with him.
