Chapter Forty!❤️
"I ran away from my family."
"Why? They're your family. You shouldn't run away from them."
Look who was talking...
Tupac didn't say anything, he had just sighed instead.
He had just arrived at Aaliyah's house, because he had ran away from his home.
He really needed somewhere to escape now, most especially after a lot of people had dirt on him because he was responsible for Nate and Notorious' death.
People where he had lived had known that anyway.
People where Aaliyah had lived didn't, which was why Tupac had gone there in the first place.
Tupac had lived in uptown Detroit, Aaliyah had lived downtown Detroit instead.
How he had found her was another story for another day.
Tupac didn't really end up saying anything to Aaliyah's question, therefore causing the girl to be even more suspicious than before as they had stayed on the balcony together.
"Tupac? Why'd you run away?" She had asked him again. "And how did you find me anyway?"
"If I told you why I ran away, you'd be pissed. And we went to the same party. I was invited to Amy and Selena's party. I saw you and Brandy go in disguise but I didn't say anything. I kinda followed you home this whole time."
Tupac didn't know Brandy personally although he had heard Aaliyah say her name a few times.
"So... basically, you stalked me?"
He didn't stalk her, no.
Mostly a surprise attack.
Before Tupac could have said anything though, Brandy wanted to know who he was.
Aaliyah had introduced Brandy to him and vice versa, explaining how Brandy was her next door neighbour and best friend.
Then how Tupac had been her best friend since childhood.
Tragically for them, they had all moved away from each other completely.
Aaliyah and Lisa had to go somewhere else, leaving Tupac behind then two years later, Tupac had to go too.
Brandy had to go inside now, leaving both Aaliyah and Tupac behind.
"I didn't stalk you, I was just trying to figure out where you lived."
Aaliyah stared at him blankly.
"What did you expect me to do?" He sighed. "I didn't have your number. You changed it, and you didn't even tell me. But if you must know... I ran away from home because you know how Nate and Notorious died a few weeks back?"
She had nodded at him slowly.
Not really saying anything else.
Tupac had then come clean, whether Aaliyah had liked it or not.
"I..."
"You?..."
"I was kinda sorta responsible for that."
Aaliyah had freaked out completely, with Tupac in the meantime seriously reminiscing about when all of this had happened.
Nate Dogg and Notorious were lowkey confused when they had realised that the police were looking for him.
Because as far as they were concerned right now?
Tupac here had reformed, didn't he?
"I-I may have said some stuff I didn't mean," he had confessed melancholically at them, completely disregarding the dirty looks they had given him at the same time.
"You had one job, Tupac!" Notorious fumed. "One job!"
He knew that.
And they had every right to be pissed at him right now. He knew that too.
They just had to hide from them before the police hd seen them.
This was a race against time.
"Tupac, how could you?" She had snapped at him. "How could you be responsible for your best friends' death?! Not even one of them. Two of them!"
Tupac had covered her mouth after and on the word responsible, because he really didn't need anybody knowing that he was really supposed to be in jail right now.
And even though he had tried to explain himself, Aaliyah didn't want to hear it.
She wanted him to leave her balcony and never return.
"Aaliyah, please. I have nowhere else to stay."
"I am not letting an ex criminal stay in my house!" She screamed. "So you were an ex criminal this whole time and you didn't say anything? You lied to me your whole life?"
Tupac didn't reply.
He was just trying to protect himself.
Now Aaliyah was trying to protect herself.
Tupac had begged her for another chance, only for her to say no to him for the umpteenth time.
Then he did something.
"As far as I'm concerned, not only did you shoplift. You snuck out whilst grounded and you and Brandy lied about your names. In a way you're just as bad as I am."
Yeah... but she didn't kill anybody.
Although she was kind of a criminal, come to think of it.
Aaliyah was tightly clutching the door handle, thinking of whether to go in or not.
Now she had to make the decision of whether she should have let Tupac stay or not.
