Chapter Thirty Two
"OK, so here's the plan," Brandy had said to Aaliyah, who were now right underneath a counter at the shop.
Aaliyah had a dress on that was way too small for her and because of this, she therefore couldn't have removed it.
She also couldn't have removed the price tag either. She hadn't actually paid for the dress or anything, so thank God for that.
But she was just lowkey about to shoplift, which was the only way for her to get out of this dress in the first place.
For some reason, there was a time limit as to how much time one could have spent at the fitting rooms.
This was probably set in the first place because once someone had selfishly spent an hour in there, and they were really holding everybody up.
Either way, the time limit for the fitting rooms were twenty minutes, in one go.
Hence why Brandy and Aaliyah had used the fitting rooms separately. Aaliyah's dress fiasco would have taken time to fix.
"The plan is easy, really. I'll try and switch off the shoplifting scanner and not get caught in the process. Not only that, but I'll try and switch off the CCTV cameras too. You in the meantime. You'll try and cause a distraction instead, you get?"
Aaliyah did understand her plan, yes.
But how the hell was she supposed to cause a distraction?
"I'm causing a distraction for you right?"
"Well duh, how else? Stop asking stupid questions sis." Brandy had answered. "If someone sees me do what I'm about to do, then we could get in serious trouble. Worst of all, arrested. And I'm pretty sure that none of us want that for ourselves, right?"
Yeah, why would Aaliyah have wanted to get arrested voluntarily?
Did that even make any sense?
She wasn't even supposed to be here to begin with.
She was supposed to be grounded with Lisa for completely messing up the house inspection earlier on today.
Speaking of Lisa, that was when the girl had decided to text Aaliyah behind the counter.
From Lisa🙄♥️
Mum and dad are about to go upstairs
They could potentially find out that you're not here
What the hell do I do Aaliyah?!
Help!Sent thirty seconds ago.
Damn... Aaliyah was really in for it now.
She had moreover given Lisa those emojis specifically because she had loved her sister and all, although sometimes she could have been really jarring...
This was probably due to jealousy.
Aaliyah was a lot less behaved than Lisa was (kinda like how Tamera was less well behaved than Tia on Sister, Sister) and occasionally, even she had to admit that she was jealous of her other half.
She sighed, before reluctantly texting her sister back in the process.
Aaliyah
Stall themLisa had replied within minutes.
From Lisa🙄♥️
How?Aaliyah
This is exactly why I saved you with the eye roll emoji, because you do my head in
Stop asking stupid questions sis
Think of something, I can't help you outThat was actually a good question, but Aaliyah was just kind of blowing the whole thing out of proportion.
Lisa then wanted to know if Aaliyah had really saved her with the eye roll emoji, or more specifically:
You used the eye roll emoji for my name on your contacts?
But why would you do that sis?Which Aaliyah didn't reply to at all, not that she had actually turned on her read receipts on Whatsapp, but she hadn't replied to her sister either way.
She had then ended the conversation with her sister, realising something.
"Hold on, why don't we just straight up ask one of the staff members to help me with this dress?"
Goodness knew why they hadn't really thought about any of this any sooner than right now, but it was actually a really good idea.
"You know what the staff members here are like, sis. They'd want to know why you didn't choose a dress that was actually your size, or something like that. They aren't the nicest people there."
"But we could tell them that I didn't know."
"And you really think they'd believe that?" Brandy trailed off, raising an eyebrow at her friend.
Aaliyah sighed.
This better have worked out, the staff members may have been strict here but it was literally this or nothing.
