Chapter Twenty Four
The house was a mess.
Which was a complete understatement. It was almost as though a tornado had hit the house five times.
The house inspection was still going on right now, with Whitney, DeVante, Zuriel and Shanice walking right into the scene.
The dreadful scene.
They honestly wouldn't believe what they had all just witnessed, most especially how they had just left the sitting room / dining room and everything was fine.
Sparkles had caused all of this mess in the first place- if it wasn't for Aaliyah and Lisa.
"What in tarnation..." Whitney had trailed off when she had walked into the scene. "How the hell did this thing happen?!"
Shanice had suggested it was their cat, with Zuriel helping DeVante clean up. Sadly, this whole thing had cost them points in the house inspection.
Whitney had argued that everything wasn't even their fault to begin with, but Shanice just didn't want to hear it right now.
"I'm sorry, it's not my fault you can't control your cat, is it?"
Aaliyah and Lisa had been silently watching everything happen live from behind the sofas, and now that they had completely wrecked the house inspection?
Nothing had really felt good anymore.
Aaliyah sighed.
"Think we took it too far?"
Lisa didn't reply to her, she had just given her the silent treatment, and Aaliyah knew exactly why she had done that.
OK, but if we get in trouble for this, then I'm never speaking to you again, and I mean it, Aaliyah. Sister or not, I don't care.
She had said that at some point during their entire plan to ruin the house inspection in the first place, which was exactly what all of them had just lowkey "accomplished".
Was it really an accomplishment though?
Accomplishments were for something good, not the other way around.
Aaliyah sighed and then she had rolled her eyes at her sister.
"Are you seriously giving me the silent treatment right now?"
Lisa didn't say anything.
"Look, I didn't force you to come with me, you just wanted to do that yourself."
She kind of did force her, but Lisa couldn't even have been bothered to argue, because she knew that very popular saying.
Don't waste words on people who deserve your silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is nothing at all.
And Aaliyah realised this, she really did.
Long story short, they both had to get out of here before it was too late.
As both Whitney and DeVante were arguing with Shanice and Zuriel over the house inspection, the girls had thought that this would have lowkey been the perfect opportunity to literally run away from this entire situation.
Although their meaning of the word perfect must have been way different to its actual meaning in the dictionary or something.
Why?
Because Whitney had caught them when both Aaliyah and Lisa thought that none of them were paying attention to them.
"Aaliyah and Lisa?"
They had stopped in their tracks, with all of the adults just looking at them.
Busted!
With a capital B.
"What are both of you doing behind the sofa?"
They had to escape this, but they didn't.
Aaliyah wanted to run away with her sister, but that had pretty much meant postponing them getting into trouble for later.
Which wasn't really a risk in which she was willing to take.
"Sofa?" Aaliyah had bluffed helplessly, scoffing. "Wonder how we got there?"
Although her parents weren't paying it.
Neither were Zuriel and Shanice either, but damn. Zuriel was so fine though.
Lisa had reluctantly nudged her sister when she had realised that all of them were currently shooting them a dirty look.
Then Lisa came clean.
They had set a toy mouse off on purpose for Sparkles to chase and for them to deliberately ruin the house inspection as well.
Whitney and DeVante were absolutely furious when they had heard that, with Shanice adding extra points again because the mess wasn't their fault.
The girls had sabotaged them, and they weren't aware of this.
Whitney had candidly believed that the house inspection shouldn't have gone on any longer, with Shanice telling them that they were right.
So they had sent them off, but the girls were in deep trouble.
And they both knew it.
