Chapter Twenty Five

"A toy mouse?" DeVante had fumed when she had heard that. "Why on Earth would you have done something like that? I mean, you might as well come clean! You two are in serious trouble regardless."

"It was an accident!"

Whitney had slapped both of her daughters, but Aaliyah even more when she had told her that.

The house inspection had just finished, and even though everything was good at first, it had actually turned out that this was very short lived.

Why?

Because of Aaliyah and Lisa deliberately using a toy mouse for Sparkles to chase. This had completely messed everything up.

Had Shanice and Zuriel not been nice people, then all four of them probably would have probably been evicted by now.

As their house was a downright mess.

But they understood everything in which had happened though.

That didn't necessarily mean that Whitney and DeVante were impressed with the girls for what they had done, because that was far off from the truth right now.

"Care to explain yourselves?" DeVante trailed off, folding his arms with Whitney in the process as well.

Aaliyah had looked at Lisa, who hadn't said anything to her- more so shoot her a death glare. That was what she had done.

Then she had sighed as she had come clean.

Lisa had absolutely nothing to do with this, and Aaliyah had forced her to plan on ruining the house inspection with her instead.

In her defence?

The only reason as to why they had ruined it in the first place was because Whitney and DeVante didn't even want to stay here anymore.

And Aaliyah had heard them stressing this more than enough times now.

"Just because we don't like this house doesn't mean that it's OK for you two to completely ruin the house inspection!" Whitney ranted.

Then she had grounded them, forcing both of them to go to their joint room. She had so much more to say but she didn't say it.

That was when the girls knew very well that they had messed up.

Aaliyah had gone up the stairs first, followed by Lisa... who was kind of just replaying what had just gone on in her head again.

Then she had called her name unexpectedly.

"Aaliyah?"

Aaliyah had looked at her blankly, although she didn't say anything else.

"You didn't have to do all of that, you know."

"Yes I did," she had whispered in frustration under her breath. "You didn't want to be a part of this at all, but I forced you to do so, which landed both of us in trouble. I'm sorry."

Lisa had accepted her apology straight away, although both of them were still grounded.

They had locked themselves in their room, with Aaliyah lowkey collapsing on her bed.

Lisa in the meantime had just sat there casually like a normal person would have done.

"That was pretty fun though, come to think of it. Ruining the house inspection."

"I know right," Aaliyah had beamed, then both of them had once again started talking about how fine Zuriel was.

That was until Brandy had knocked on their window. She was their next door neighbour and they were all pretty good friends with her.

As the girls hadn't really seen or heard from Brandy in a long time, they were shocked that she was there. They had kind of thought that she had died too.

Apparently, the most popular sisters at their school aka Amy Winehouse and Selena Quintanilla were having a party to celebrate their birthday.

They were twins.

Brandy wanted them to go, with Aaliyah jumping for joy over it. Amy and Selena had really liked them... although they didn't really like Lisa.

As she was a goody two shoes.

Brandy even had an invitation. It was sparkly with silver glitter all over it and it had even had Brandy's name on it.

It was invite only but they could have brought friends, as long as Amy and Selena were on good terms with them anyway.

"You guys can go without me."

"Are you sure?"

Lisa sighed.

She would have told them that going to this party was a gargantuan risk and they were going to land themselves into heaps of trouble.

Especially Aaliyah, as she was grounded and Brandy wasn't.

They weren't going to listen to that.

So screw that.

She nodded and smiled instead.

Aaliyah had felt guilty just leaving her behind, but this was going to be the talk of the town.

"We'll be back before Mum and Dad suspect anything; and if they do? Say I went to the library or something."

Lisa understood this immediately.

Aaliyah had then then put on her shoes and leather jacket, before eventually climbing out of the window to go to the party with Brandy.

Lisa just watching her all the way.
