November 6, 1986: 8:10 in the evening.
Lily Potter née Evans flooed into Severus's quarters, after hearing the news that one of her children was staying with her former childhood best friend, Severus Snape. Sev, the boy who had introduced her to magic and told her all about Hogwarts when they where just nine years old; the one who had promised her that their houses would not affect their friendship, a week into their first term of their first year at Hogwarts. Severus, the young man who got caught up in the wrong crowd as a teenager, her best friend. Snape, the teenager who called her mudblood after being bullied by the marauders when they were sixteen. The young man who grew up and married Miranda Black and became a Death Eater. Lily closed her eyes. Yes, her former friend was all of those things, but he was also the one who had spent hours upon hours brewing the potions to help her recover. The mother of two did not know what to make of her former friend, and wanted to ensure the safety of one of her children before anything. Lily was a little surprised to find Severus not in the parlor, but a glance at her beautiful golden pocket watch, which had been a wedding present from James, told her that he was probably upstairs, putting the children to bed. Lily turned around in a circle getting a good look at the place that her former childhood best friend called home during the school year.

Severus came down some five minutes later after tucking his children into bed for the night to find a female about 5.6 with dark coppery red hair wearing a nice pair of blue jeans, a nice long-sleeved red blouse, a tan leather jacket, a pair of new wedged brown boots, and a velvety, warm, winter cloak. "Can I help you?" Severus asked. The figure turned sharply around, revealing a pair of beautiful almond shaped emerald green eyes. "Lily?" He said under his breath. "You look magnificent, Lil-Mrs. Potter."

"It's Evans, actually. And you can help me by telling me where my little girl is." Lily said coolly.

"She's sleeping, in her bed in my daughter's room." Severus replied.

"Show, me. Please." Lily pleaded. "I have to see my baby. I have to know that she is safe and sound. I've been worrying about her since I heard she ran away from her home nearly seven months ago."

"She's sleeping, Miss Evans." Severus replied, attempting to reassure Lily.

Lily's eyes flashed emerald fire as her temper rose. "Severus Tobias Snape!" Lily growled the full name of her ex-childhood best friend. "You have no idea the worry that I have been through over the past five months, when they told me that they had no earthly clue where my daughter was. So, if you value not being hexed into the next century then you will show me where my little girl is." Lily looked as angry as she had been back when Severus had called her the horrible foul name. Except, at that time, her anger had been intermingled with hurt. But, the only thing that had kept her from hexing Severus back then was the fact that she had been a prefect and hexing fellow pupils was against the rules, big time; which could cause her to lose house points, get detention, or even lose her prefect badge, and could quite possibly ruin her chances of becoming Head Girl.

Severus, using all of his finely spy-honed intuition and reflexes, that had served to keep him alive in his years as a spy instantly knew that his former best friend/current love of his life was not joking. The afore mentioned obstacles that prevented Lily from hexing him the last time were non existent. Meaning, nothing except the threat of pressing charges for undo violence would prevent her. And Severus would never use that, because he would never press charges against Lily, he would never want to see her in Azkaban. Making a quick decision, Severus did the safe thing. "Follow me, Miss Evans, and I swear on my magic that I will show where your daughter is sleeping." Severus said, as he led the way up the stair case and towards the room. Lily followed the man quietly up the stairs and stopped as he paused at the doorway. "You can go in if you'd like." He said quietly. "Her bed in on the right side of the room." He told her quietly as he opened the door.
