September, 1991... Katey age 11...
Eleven year old Katherine Elizabeth Rose Potter stifled a yawn, and sighed contently as she stared at the scenery of the courtyard, as she took a bite of her sandwich. The fresh air was working wonders for her exhaustion and mood, running off three hours of sleep for the past five nights was seriously wrecking her mood. The girl had to stay up later than planned the previous night as she had to get last minute assignments done before Friday, leaving her to get about two-in-a-half hours of sleep the previous night

Katey would stop working on homework, reading for essays, or playing a game of Exploding Snap at 10. She would then pack her things up and head to her dorm, by 10:05. 10:05-10:15 was spent getting dressed for bed and laying her clothes out for the next day. 10:15-10:30 was spent reading a book. At 10:30, she would turn off the lamp by her bed close the curtains and try to sleep, only to fall asleep a half hour later. However, the past five nights Katey had woken up at 2, apparently it would seem that her nightmares of Uncle Vernon had decided to come back with a vengeance, at the very end, turning into Voldemort. Katey layed back down, only to find that sleep wouldn't come.

Katey gazed off into the distance, glad for once that she had decided to just grab a quick sandwich and take her lunch outside. It was so peaceful. "Katey!" A little voice called, or it was.

"Alexa? What is it? Is something wrong?" Katey turned towards her now four year old sister in concern, knowing that Severus was insistent on his children not bothering the students unless it was an extreme emergency.

"Hide me! Mummy's mad at me."

"What happened?"

"I snuck into Daddy's lab."

"You did what? Alexandra! That was very naughty."

"You gotta hide me."

"No such luck, Little Sis. I've got class in fifteen minutes. Go on back to their quarters."

"Katey, please!"

"Sorry, Kiddo. No can do."

"Pleeease. I don't wanna face Daddy."

"And I suppose you think I don't?" Katey snorted.

"Yeah. I mean you always try to protect us."

"That's because I don't really have to lie to Dad." Katey said.

"Pleeease."

"Sorry, Lex. Things have changed. I can't protect you anymore."

"Why?"

"Because," Katey squatted down to look at her sister. "I attend Hogwarts now, I won't be around much that more."

"What do you mean?"

"Alexa, I haven't seen mum since September 1. You remember Dad's rules about bothering the students."

"I hate that rule." Alexa complained. A bell rang in the distance reminding Katey that she had somewhere to be.

"Go on now. Off to our quarters. I've got to get to class."

"Please?"

"Alexa, Gingersnap, you I want to help you." Katey said sadly. "But, I can't. Go on back to our quarters."

"Katey, please!"

"I can't." Katey said. "If I'm late to Potions, Dad's gonna have my backside. I've got to get to class." Katey said standing and quickly grabbing her bag before hurrying to Potions.

"Katey! There you are!" Her cousin, Susan greeted her at the dungeon staircase.

"Hey."

"Where were you?" Hermione asked.
