May, 1992, Katey age 11....
"Katherine, it's time to get up." Severus opened the door later that same morning."Noooooooo!"
"Katherine! Get up right now, young lady."
"Daaaaddd! Let me sleep!"
"Katherine! Either you get up know or you will not like the consequences."
"Let me sleep!" Katey raised her voice angrily.
"Katherine Elizabeth Rose! Get that backside out of bed in the shower this moment young lady!"
"No! Let me sleep!"
"Katherine Elizabeth Rose Potter! If I have to physically pull you from this bed you will not like the consequences. You have until I get three to get up before I physically pull you from this bed. 1."
"No00000"
"2."
"Go away!"
"3." Severus said as he grabbed the girls arm firmly and pulled her out of her bed.
"Owe!" Katey yelped as he landed two firm swats to her backside.
"Shower, young lady. Now. I'll bring your clothes to the lavatory."
Fifteen minutes later, found Katey in her school uniform coming downstairs for breakfast. "Why'd you lay out my uniform?" Grumbled the girl sitting down at the table.
"Because, you, young lady are going to be spending the morning in my classroom in the corner for lying for the past month." Severus stood up from his seat and turned to head into his office. "Hurry and eat your breakfast then I want you in my office in," Severus took out his pocket watch to check the time. Parkingston had been ordered to report to his office in one hour, and he wanted time to talk to the girl about her lying and to deal with her disrespect from that morning, and to get her settled in a corner in his classroom to spend until nine quietly working on an essay before she spent the rest of the morning writing lines.
"Yes, Sir." Katey said. Severus strode out of the room and to his office. Sighing as he sat down, the man opened a drawer and pulled out a wooden ruler, setting it down on the desktop. Fifteen minutes later, a knock sounded and Katey poked her head in. "You wanted to see me?"
"Come, Katherine." Severus beckoned her inside. Katey hurried inside and closed the door behind her, cringing at the sight of the wooden ruler on the desktop. "Do you recall what I said would happen if you were disrespectful?" Severus asked the girl curiously as he beckoned her to stand in front of his desk.
"Yes, Sir. But, I wasn't."
"Yelling at me is not disrespectful? Behaving like a bratty toddler because you don't want to get up is not being disrespectful?"
"I'm sorry."
"I am too. Nevertheless, you were warned." Severus stood and picked up the ruler before moving around to the front of the desk and sitting on the desktop. "Over my knee please." Katey did so, and the man made quick work, landing three fast swats to her backside.
"I'm sorry."
"Forgiven." Severus said gently. "Now, as for the lying you did." Severus looked slightly more stern. "
Katey winced. "But-"
"Don't argue with me. You've still got the hairbrush coming for putting yourself into danger."
"Yes, Sir." Katey sighed looking down at her feet.
Severus sighed as he gently tipped her chin up to look at him. "I am not doing this to make you miserable." He said gently. "I am doing this because I want you to think before you lie to me. Lying is wrong and will lead me to not be able to trust a word that you say. Do you know exactly what will happen if I am unable to trust you at all?"
