May-June 5, 1992, Katey age 11.... Three weeks into her grounding....
"Mum?" Katey asked her mother as she helped set the table one Monday morning for breakfast, three weeks later. Katey was still serving her grounding sentence after admitting lying to her parents after Filch had caught Harry, Hermione, and herself out after curfew. Harry had also been confined to his room unless to use the lavatory or attend class for three weeks, broom restriction until the next match, as well as some other punishment that he wasn't sharing with his sister. Harry had been released from his "cell," after lunch the previous day, and Katey was hoping for a release as well. Especially sense she was tired of having to wake up for school so early to set the table for breakfast.
"Yes, Sweetheart?" Lily asked as she began to work on the scrambled eggs and the toast. "What's your question?"
Katey carefully opened a cupboard and grabbed two coffee cups before answering. "Do you think that I could study with Hermione in the library for like an hour after classes end today?" Katey set the two cups down where her parents normally sat and hurried to get the plates.
"Hmmm." Lily considered the question as she checked the time on the clock above the stove. 7:35. "You'll have to ask your father." Lily said. "Katey, go on upstairs and tell Lydia that she needs to-"
"I'm right here, Mummy." Five almost six year old Lydia said.
"Oh, good, your here. Where's your school bag at? And where are your shoes?"
"In my room." Replied the five year old.
"Katey, run and get your sisters back pack and shoes. Lydia, sit down and eat your breakfast. Hurry dear, it's almost time for you to leave for school."
"Sure, thing, Mum." The eleven year old grinned, slipping out of the kitchen and hurrying up the stairs.
"Here we go." Katey returned a couple minutes later. "Let me help you with your shoes so you can finish eating." Katey said, slipping her sisters small black Mary Janes on her feet. That done, Katey quickly set about setting the rest of the table for breakfast.
"Oh Merlin." Lily said, once again glancing at the clock. "Lydia, you are going to have to walk by yourself today." Lily told her golden blonde haired Caribbean blue eyed daughter. Katey who had filled her glass with some orange juice glanced at her mother.
"Mum, I know I'm still grounded, but I have plenty of time before Transfiguration. I'd be happy to take Lydia to class if you'd like." Katey offered.
Lily nodded, looking relieved. "Go ahead, Sweetie. Straight there and straight back, young lady. No stopping by your Godfather's office."
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Though if he does see you in the corridor, you may speak to him briefly." Smiled the mother indulgently, slipping her younger daughter's bag onto her shoulders
"Thanks, Mum." Katey smiled. "Let's go, little sis." The two sisters walked hand in hand to Hogwarts Primary, meeting up with Harry and Ron. "Harry, Ron, surprised to see you up so early."
"Hey, Katey." Ron grinned.
"How's Christy and Percy?" Katey asked her twin. "They had to leave class early on Friday. And Mum said that they are throwing up congested." Katey said.
"Pomphrey the Dragon," said Harry, using his nickname for the strict Mediwitch and Matron for Hogwarts. "Hasn't let me in yet to check on them. But, I know for a fact that Dad was in there earlier this morning checking on them." Harry said. "He told me he'd let me know how they were later."
"Ah."
"So, you walking Lydia to school?"
"I am. Let me guess, big brother got wind of some punk picking on little sister."
