Mia had decided to leave Edward alone when he came home. She did not question the odd wet dog smell, nor did she ask what had happened between him and Bella.
He was in a considerably less hostile mood while still carrying around his usual coldness.
Mia had decided upon Edwards arrival, to explore the dull town of forks.
Mia walked on foot, seeing as there was no rain. The ground was still rather damp.
She had come to the conclusion that the weather was as warm as it was going to get.
She cut through trees and forests, not wanting to run into anyone in the small town, and found herself in a meadow.
She smiled to herself remembering Cedrics favourite flowers.
Purple petunias.
Walking into the middle of the garden, Mia sat down, allowing herself to relax.
She meditated, realising she hadn't done so in a while.
As she closed her eyes, she imagined re-arranging her thoughts into books and placing them onto shelfs, she tucked unwanted memories into higher shelfs, the war, the deaths, Cedric, further away from the forefront of her mind, she made smaller books of unimportant memories and found random spaces to place them in.
She had decided to make a book in her mind, titled Edward Cullen.
She placed all her memories involving him into it and placed it on the highest shelf.
When she re-emerged from her mind she found herself not feeling anything towards Edward.
She blinked, and all her loathing towards him returned.
She let out a frustrated growl, running her hands through her hair.
She found that the field was sickeningly bright and made her way to explore are parts of the town.
As Mia continued her walk it started to rain. Of course it did. She pulled up her hood and tucked her arms into her pockets.
As Mia unknowingly strayed further away from forks she found herself on a beach. The smell of wet dog overpowered the salty smell of the ocean.
Mia felt uneasy, as if someone was watching her. She started walking faster, trying to find her way back.
A growl sounded from behind her and she turned around with a gasp.
She came in contact with a beast, it huffed and she fell back onto the soggy sand, scurrying away from the creature.
The creature looked like a bear— no. A wolf? It was as large as a grown bear yet had the features of a wolf, it seemed to be threatened by her presence.
It bared its teeth to her, Mia turned her head.
The animal drew nearer backing Mia up into the icy depths of the water.
It attacked, grabbing Mia into its mouth like a rag doll and throwing her back into a rock.
She made a grunt of pain and fell limp against the rock.
The water lapped over her numerous times before the creature came into her eye view once again. There was two of them— no, one, no. Two? She couldn't tell if she had a concussion.
Just as the creature was about to attack her again another one emerged from behind him. The new creature who had brown fur attacked his white furred friend.
The new creature seemed to be some sort of superior Mia noticed. The animal which first attacked Mia backed off with a whimper and the new creature turned to face her.
The creature slowly morphed into a man. He was tall— at least a foot taller. He was tan and ruggedly handsome.
"What are you doing here?" The man asked her, he stood in a way which made him tower over Mia's limp body.
"The treaty specifically says—
Mia couldn't make out anything else he said. It sounded as if she was fading in and out of water.
He seemed to be repeating the same thing, growing angrier each time.
Mia sighed out incoherent words. They made sense in her head but the look on the boys face said otherwise.
He huffed angrily and returned to his animal form and left Mia.
She let herself sleep.
Mia's eyes opened. She was laying on her back, staring at the moving trees, as if something was moving her. She turned to the side and found that she was on the back of an animal.
She slept again.
When she awoke she found a girl with a scornful expression and a scar covering the right side of her face inspecting her from afar.
She was to tired to care about her unfamiliar surroundings.
She closed her eyes.
.
The phone rang for the fourth time in the last hour.
Edward wasn't tempted to answer but he could do without the incessant ringing.
As it rung for the fifth time he begrudgingly answered.
"Is this the uh— whats her last name?" The husky male voice became muffled
"I don't know!" A females voice harshly whispered.
The man cleared his throat.
"Mia's house. Is this Mia's house?"
Edward recognised the voice as Jacob Black and immediately hung up.
What business did Jacob have, regarding Mia?
The phone rang once again.
Edward wondered if he should let it continue to ring. Knowing Jacob he would get bored of this cat and mouse game easily and eventually show up to Mia's home. He had thought he had gotten rid of Jacob after leaving Bella; apparently not. Cursing at nothing in particular the young Cullen answered the phone.
"Black" he said in false sweetness.
"Edward?" He said in disbelief.
"Yes" Edward rolled his eyes.
Jacob gave a boisterous laugh and cockily said his next words, "seems as if all your girlfriends find their way to me"
Edward furrowed his brows.
Mia was with Jacob? There had to be a mistake.
"I don't have time for games, Black" Edward said.
"No, really!" Jacob said rather enthusiastically, "I've got her here, she's practically all over me" on the other side of the phone Jacob looked at Mia's limp body and snickered.
"Jacob I swear to—
"Relax Cullen," The wolf said smugly, "she broke the treaty and got her well deserved punishment—
"Punishment— what punishment?" Edward scoffed, disbelieving.
"My pack needed a new chew toy, anyways. Mia just happened to be here" a sinister chuckle followed Jacob's words.
The line went dead and Edward realised it was because he had pulled the phone box out of the wall.
Edward raked his hands through his hair in a painful manner and reluctantly left, making his journey to the Black's residence.
