The school was fairly small and faces became easier to recognise and attach names to as the day went on. Mia was in English with a girl she believed to be named Jessica.

Jessica was the typical school girl, worried about boys, gossip, sex but she wasn't bad company, she seemed sweet enough. Maybe just too settled on fitting in.

Mia was just glad she had found someone to be friends with on the first day. Her and Jessica chatted aimlessly, well Jessica really did all the chatting while Mia absentmindedly listened, about some girl named Bella and her — boyfriend? Edward. From the snippets Mia caught he was some overly attractive male who kept to himself and who never glanced at a girl until, Bella. This sounded much like those stupid muggle movies Mia used to watch in her early childhood.

"...So like they're in love or something now, but it's whatever, I guess" she finally finished off, jealousy radiating from her.

Mia's jaw ticked at the use of the word love.

Mia clicked her tongue and spat the word "pathetic". Although it was meant to be said in her head she realised she spoke the word aloud.

Mia stole a quick glance in Jessica's direction to see she wasn't fazed at all and was now studying her nails. You see, Mia's perception of love could be said to be completely and utterly fucked up. Everyone she loved had died and it wasn't her fault that love felt like a weakness to her.

"Sorry" Mia mumbled

"It's cool, I get it you've been heartbroken, we've all been there"

False.

What Jessica didn't know was that she could never understand the pain Mia feels.

Mia was never one for hating people based on blood statuses but she is quickly realising how useless and insignificant muggles are and their way of living. Perhaps Voldemort had the right idea.

For the rest of the class Mia tuned her out and nodded when she thought acceptable and frowned when Jessica mentioned Bella and Edwards fortuitous love. Finally the bell rang and Mia jumped out of her seat and collected her books. It was time for lunch and Jessica offered a seat at her table with her friends, if her friends were anything like her, Mia believed she would hex them in an instant. Mia quickly found some excuse to skip the majority of lunch and told her that she would catch up with her later, Jessica nodded leaving Mia on her own.

Mia roamed the halls and studied the school, she was walking at a great speed with a pile of books covering her line of vision. Before she could process it she bumped into someone and all her things dropped to the floor.

Seriously? now this is exactly like the muggle movies, she thought. what's next some dashing male is the cause of the fall of her books? Now that would be hilarious.

She dropped down and started collecting her things, pilling them into an un-neat stack. Curse muggle, magic would be so helpful right about now.

"You alright?" the person inquired, Mia thought the voice almost sounded familiar but she was too busy stacking her things and then re-stacking them when they toppled over again.

"Fine" Mia muttered, she finally gave up on her fruitless effort of collecting her books and looked up from under her eyelashes to reveal a truly magnificent human. Mia eyes scanned him slowly then suddenly she stood up, quickly recognising him.

Once Mia stood at her full height, she studied him carefully. He furrowed his brows and his eyes suddenly widened at some form of realisation. Mia opened and closed her mouth uselessly, she tried to form words but nothing would come out.

"Mia?" He broke the silence first

"Cedric?" her occulumecy failed her and her bookshelf's started rattling.

The man in front of Mia looked exactly like Cedric except for his paper white skin and honey coloured eyes. His hair was different, a honey brown as well with pieces sticking out, he was in need of a hair cut but it suit him. He had bags similar to mine surrounding his eyes and veins that looked like they were about to jump out from under his skin. Everything about him was inviting.

He stepped back, so impossibly fast and his lips parted creating a perfect 'o'.

"No" he finally spoke, his voice steady.

"I'm Edward Cullen" he pursed his lips, shoving his hands into his pocket.

Although Mia was completely oblivious to it at the time, suddenly her time at forks wasn't such a burden.
