"What the fuck is wrong with everyone today!" Edward roared, swaying back but quickly recovering from Adrien's sudden attack.

"That was for Mia" Adrien said pushing him back.

"This is about Mia?! I argue with her everyday—

"And this," he said shoving Edward hard against a wall, "is for not telling me the fucking truth" he spat.

"The truth about wha—

"You know exactly what!"

"No I—

"Don't play these mind fuck games with me, Edward" angry tears welled up in Adrien's eyes.

"What games!" Edward finally found his bearings, he grabbed Adrien by his collar, "what are you talking about? Huh? Tell me!"

"What's the date today" Adrien said turning his head away from Edward.

"What?"

"What's the date, the fucking date"

"Oh yeah, I'm the one playing mind game—

"The 24th of June, the 24th" Adrien spat as if it was supposed to mean something, he was was out of breath.

"Brilliant, now I know the bloody date—

"The day you died! The day that— You were supposed to be gone, but you didn't die did you? You faked your fucking death and here Mia is, fucked up because of all the trauma you" he pointed an accusing finger at him, "caused her"

Edward's grip loosened on Adrien's collar, Adrien softly pushed Edward back and fixed his shirt, still not looking at him.

"Adrien—

"Don't fucking try." He huffed, "when are you going to tell her?"

"When am I— I'm not going to tell her," Adrien gave Edward a disgusted look at his words, "and neither are you" he said through clenched teeth.

Adrien scoffed.

"Why wouldn't I tell—

"Because she'll hate me."

"She already fucking hates you!" Adrien retaliated.

"Because I want her too" Edward seethed, "I play these 'mind-fuck' games with her so she hates me! But she doesn't hate him, she has this perfect image of Cedric fucking Diggory and if you tell her she'll not only hate me but she'll hate him." He paused, his chest rising and falling quickly.

Adrien was silent, he was still looking away from Edward, his breathing was erratic.

"Does Delilah know?" Edward sighed.

"No" Adrien said indifferently, "she will soon though"

Edward huffed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"Edward, I'll keep this a secret from Mia" Edward almost gave a relieved sigh before Adrien started again, "but not for you. For her" Edward clenched his jaw and nodded. "But you can never, ever ask me to keep this a secret from Del. I wont fuck up our relationship because of secrets. Im not you" Adrien sneered at the floor.

Edward closed his eyes and sank on to the floor as Adrien shut the door with a loud slam.

.

While Delilah brewed a warm cup of tea for Mia, Adrien had filled her in on Edwards secret.

Edward had explained to Adrien, many years ago, how the volturi had threatened his and his siblings life because Carlisle wouldn't re-join and Carlisle was forced to put each of them into hiding. Adrien left out the details about some wand from the ministry that even muggles — whatever those were — could use.

She wasn't as fazed as he had expected.

"He's always been so.." she paused searching for the right for, "mysterious. Im not really surprised" she shrugged.

"But you are mad. Right?" he suggest, she simply shrugged again.

"What do you mean" he imitated her shrug.

"I just mean," she sighed, "he did it for his family"

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean—

"Think about it this way" she turned to face him and placed her hand on his cheek, "if my life were in danger, and you were given the choice to keep me somewhere safe or to risk my death you would hide me, hm?" She asked, placing kissed along his jaw.

"I suppose" he grumbled, not as angry as he was before.

"Good" she said pulling away, "and don't be so hard on him, I'm sure he's just as hurt as Mia, if not even more"

"Why would he be—

"Because Adrien" she said harshly, "shes right there, in front of him, and he can't even be with her." She gave him a stern look, "Besides, Ithink he's rather brave" she hummed.

"But that—

"We'll talk about this later" she said, aggressively placing the tea cup onto a saucer and raising a brow at him.

"Fine" he sighed, they both made their way out of the kitchen towards Mia.

"Here you go, gorgeous" Delilah said, placing the cup on a table in front of Mia and sitting next to her, "now, you can stay here as long as you need, Phoenix is out hunting so we have a spare room for you" she suggested.

"Not like he even uses the bloody room" Adrien mumbled.

Delilah turned and glared at him.

"It's fine, really" she smiled, sipping the tea.

"Well let us know if you change your mind" Delilah placed a warm kiss on the top of Mia's head and made her way upstairs.

Mia watched as Adrien's eyes followed his lover up the stairs and her stomach turned.

"You okay?" Adrien asked as he sat in the spot Delilah had previously.

"I'm okay, just" she couldn't find the word.

"Sad?" He provided.

"No, no not sad" she chewed her bottom lip, "I stopped feeling sad a while ago, I just feel at a loss I suppose. Theres an empty spot where he was and nothing ever really fills it" she shrugged.

Adrien closed his eyes feeling guilt build up in his chest.

"I'm sorry" he said, wrapping a blanket around her shoulders.

"It's alright." She said, "I never thanked you for what you did. So.. Thank you" she chuckled, "although i think punching him was a bit far"

"So i keep being told" he mumbled, "I'll send him a gift basket, he'll be fine"

She laughed lightly.

"Im gonna go to sleep, 'night pal" he said roughing up her hair lightly.

She sat for a few moments before deciding to return home.

Edward would never know but that night when Mia returned she found him looking at himself in the mirror in self loathing and continuing to murmur her name along with a stream of apologies.
