We crashed into the tree and fell down to the bottom, getting scratches all along the way. We landed at the bottom with a loud thud.

"Ow." Hiccup said. Merida landed right on top of him. I lightly laughed as I stood up.

I took Merida's hand and helped her up.

"So, you can fly." Merida said. "That would have been nice to know before we jumped out a window."

"Technically, we flew out the window." I smirked.

"Do you need help getting up Hiccup?" Merida asked. Hiccup was still lying on the ground.

"I'm okay. Just a little winded." He paused. "Actually I could really use some help."

We laughed and helped him up.

"So I guess Rapunzel is back on our side." Merida said.

"What now?" Hiccup asked.

"Well. We have an advantage because Pitch thinks we're dead and all that." I explained.

"All that?" Merida teased.

"Whatever."

"Where do you think they went?" Hiccup questioned.

"Probably Pitch's lair. Let's head there. It's at least a day walk." I explained.

Merida asked, "Does Pitch really call it his lair?"

"Unfortunately, yes. Let's go. We have a long journey ahead of us since Pitch has his nightmares."

"I can fix that." Hiccup smiled. He let out a loud whistle. A pause, then a black shadow appeared over their heads with a whoosh. The sleek black creature landed on front of Hiccup, glaring at me.

Slobber breath is back..

The Nightfury pounced, smacking me flat and covering me with his disgusting slobber. Everyone laughed, Merida almost folding over. I managed to shove Toothless off of me. As I stood up, I tried to wipe off the slobber remembering that Hiccup said it doesn't wash off.

We all got on Toothless, much to Merida's protests. I sat in the back, holding on to an extra handle.

With Hiccup in the front, we launched up into the cloud filled sky. Merida screamed, holding on to Hiccup even tighter. I thought I could see a little smile through the pain of her grip on Hiccup's face. I grinned to myself and closed my eyes, trying to make sense of all the recent events.

We arrived at his lair a few hours later. We landed a kinda far away, so we wouldn't be spotted or heard. Toothless staying hidden in a comfy spot of burnt ground (with his fire breath) and fell asleep. In case we needed a quick get-away, we knew he'd be close.

Hiccup, Merida, and I crept up to Pitch's lair. In a tiny clearing was a small, wooden bed frame. It was light brown and very old. The middle planks were broken; it led down a hole to were Pitch awaited.

"He lives under a bed?" Merida said.

"Yes." I sighed.

Hiccup spoke up, "What's the plan? We just go jump in that hole?"

"Yep. Lets go." I started walking up. There was no other entrance. We didn't really have another option.

"What? I wasn't being serious!" Hiccup ran to catch up with Merida and I.
