Rapunzel's P.O.V.
                         ~12 years later~

"Perfect! What do you think Pascal?" I asked looking at my painting of the lights. (Like in the movie.)

"Rapunzel! Let down your hair!" Mother Gothel yelled from below.

"Its time!" I quickly covered the painting with the curtains. I hopped down and ran to the window. "Coming Mother!" I put my hair on the hook and threw it down. Mother held on and made a little foothold. I pulled her up with all my might. When she reached the top, I pulled my hair in and said, out of breath, "Welcome home Mother."

"Rapunzel, how on Earth do you pull me up every single day. Its absolutely exhausting darling!"

"Well-"

She laughed.

"Mother, I was wondering-"

"Oh Rapunzel I'm tired. Sing for me." She said looking in the mirror.

I quickly grabbed the chair, stool, and brush. I sat mother down and handed her my brush and some of my hair. I sat in the stool and began singing fast. Barely understandable fast.

"Rapunzel!" She said brushing as fast as she could.

"Ok. Mother, since my 18th birthday is in two days, could you take me to see the floating lights?"

Just then Jack appeared at the opeaned  window. Nobody noticed his silent approach.

"Floating lights?"

"The floating lights." I climbed up to my painting and pulled back to curtains. "I've only seen them through my window."

"Oh please Rapunzel. It's just the stars."

"That's the thing! I charted stars and they're always constant. But these! They only appear on my birthday Mother. Only on my birthday."

"Rapunzel, the world is a dangerous place for a delicate flower such as yourself." She said pulling some fruit from her bag.

"Mother, I'm turning 18 and with you, I will be safe."

"Rapunzel! Enough! You are never leaving this tower!"

I was taken aback. Never. All alone in the tower. Never seeing the lights or even the world!

"Oh great! Now I'm the bad guy!" She said sitting down.

"Mother."

"Yes? It better not be the stars."

"No. I know what I want for my birthday now." I said putting on a fake smile.

"And what is that?"

"New paint. The ones you made with the white shells you once brought me."

"That's a three day trip!" She walked up to me. "Are you sure your going to be ok without me?"

I nodded. She kissed my forehead and said," I'll be back in three days time. I love you very much dear."

"I love you too."

She gathered her things and went down the window using my hair as usual.

"I'll be back in three days time!" She repeated.

"I'll be here." I said so she didn't hear me. I let my hair flow in the wind and looked out. I held back the tears.

"Rapunzel?" Jack said floating in front of me.
