"I uh gotta um.. do...that.. er go." I stammered.

"Jack. Your not making any sense." Punzie said a bit concerned.

"Er... I gotta do um something."

I paddled to the shore and told Rapunzel that I would be right back.

"I promise."

"Ok." She said trying to smile.

I started fast walking into the woods.

"It's ok Pascal. He'll come back. He will remember." I heard Rapunzel say. Her voice slightly wavered.

Deeper I went till I heard a branch snap. I froze. Then everything went black...

Rapunzel's P.O.V.

Minutes went by. The lanterns had all floated away. About now I probably could see them from the tower.

Oh Jack where are you?! Mother Gothel will be back tomorrow.

An hour went by. I started to worry. I was standing by the boat trying to spot Jack. I saw a dark shadow come out.

I started forward. "Jack! What took you so-"

I backed up. It wasn't Jack. It was a tall thin man wearing black clothes. He had pale skin and slick black hair. His thin green eyes and sharp nose made him a man you would avoid on the streets. A man who sucked out the happiness.

"Long..." I finished.

The figure smiled a crooked smile.

"Rapunzel. I'm afraid Jack is a scardy cat and ran away. He said he wanted to forget you... But I, Pitch Black remember you. You were the little girl in the tower who was afraid. So very afraid of being forgotten and left alone in that tower forever. I remember you Rapunzel. Come with me." He soothed. Pitch put out his hand.
