Another poem I found recently that I wrote in 2015 in a creative writing class for a slam poetry assignment.
- Anger
Mad. Unhappy. Selfish, rotten
Blaming it on them you've forgotten.
Wanting an apology.
You've changed.
Your mood sour,
Every hour,
While waiting for their time in a shower,
Of hate.
Towards their sudden fate.
- Fear
Scared. Unsure. Finding yourself wanting to be secure.
Of that feeling you had before.
Crying at night when they might become no more,
On that sandy, empty shore.
- Death
Sadness. Regret. Rejecting. Goals never met.
An empty feeling you now feel.
Deep inside your heart.
Wait, no.
A hole.
In your soul.
Rethinking your last chosen words.
When there was other things that could've been told.
Pushing away from both worlds.
Both yours and theirs.
Searching for where they might be,
Trying to find that one.
- Pain
Physical. Emotional. Mental. Feeling.
Those scars you now carry.
They point and whisper,
While others might sneer or taunt,
The pain over bearing.
Your mind starts to think,
Was this all my fault?
Eyes watering.
Throat dry.
Out of tears.
Done with life.
You wonder if there is a better side.
Heart racing, stomach growling.
Door locked, someone laughing.
You see things you hadn't before,
And begin not to care if it happens more.
Heart now heavy,
Breaking down.
Eyes red, feeling as if you've drowned.
In your own body.
Your mind had began reeling.
When that one,
Special person,
Left behind no meaning,
To be gone.
- Good-bye
Acceptance. Warmth. Happy. Joy.
A warm breeze flowing past you,
Your eyes now filled with a smile.
You know they are with you,
Everyday even though once in a while,
You can feel their warmth hugging you.
Embraced with a new feeling.
Walking along that sandy shore.
No longer empty.
Your hand in theirs as you now found that one,
That one you now love.
They understand.
And no more,
Will you be alone,
Standing on that edge of the water's soul,
Watching, waiting, wondering more,
If this was all by chance or fate.
If they were supposed to leave.
Heart now mended,
Soul now free,
You know, they now will never leave.
