Conflicting Feelings

Bright blue eyes contain flecks of sapphire and cyan

The warm rays of the burning sun shine on your hair, turning it gold

Smile so soft yet it tugs at the corners of your mouth, two canines being revealed

Nose, although a bit crooked from all the brawls you've landed yourself in,

it brushes against pale skin

In its trails goosebumps awake from their numb slumber and love is left behind,

damp lips ginger with each placement

We laugh, and we sigh, but the pleasure is draining from my breath

What was once butterflies is now a churning sea, tossing and turning at your troublesome gaze

Fear takes root, deep in the soil of that had been passion now shifted poison

You. You are the poison.

Creeping into the holes and seeping through the cracks of my shatter physique,

you plant yourself without knowing

And it leaves me oblivious to the grave I am digging

Further and farther into the earth, past the beginning and far from the end,

a flower blossoms and soon its petals are out for the world to take in

But the world is cruel, as is your touch

Hail pelts at the new life,

the shards of razor sharp ice freezing the antidote that would've cured the fear

Flames of wicked fire and uncertainty nips,

burning from the heat which sets alight to new waves of worry and dread

Gusts of wind threatens to uproot the hope that lies inside the flower,

clawing at the vines that tried so dearly to hold on for dear life

It doesn't want to give up

It doesn't want to give way to the frightening thoughts that grow more with the trailing kisses gone cold left on my skin

It doesn't want to.

Yet, it does.

With the universe at odds with the mind of a creature so delicate and yet still changing,

evolving into who they will be

The fear wins and the plant is swept away with the current of emotions

Out of reaction, she lets go

I let go

You don't realize it until it was too late

That the poison originally from you was delivered to me long before we met

My mind was the poison, and you were the host to give it a chance to thrive

And now here I am, wishing to be killed all over again.
