Time Was A Friend

I used to think back,

Look at the times.

When I had fun in the sun,

And ran and run,

Meant the same thing.

I used to think of the times,

When happines was key.

And hopefully that'd someday come to be,

Again at last,

But I grew each day in an hour glass.

I thought time was my enemie,

But it was my friend.

In the end it will be better,

For a promise will mend.

Everything shall come together,

And by a ticking of the clock,

Life will seem as if locked.

Time was my friend,

Promises did mend.

Things were better in the end,

Now I look back,

And am not filled with sorrow or regret.

Life is now happy,

Like so long ago.

My heart once empty,

Is now once again whole.
