Growing up

The light in your eyes,

Shined brilliantly.

Once you grew,

Little by little it left.

Your smile began to fade,

And turned into a facade.

You stopped laughing all the time,

And became locked in your bedroom.

Yelled at by your parents,

Told you couldn't do it.

You never hangout with them anymore,

But they don't know they blew it.

Wishing you could tell them,

Of what they have no clue.

You cry in your room,

Hoping they knew.

"You've changed",

Yeah,

I did.

But even better.

I grew up.
