Nine Lives Gone

When the leaves change color,

I change heart,

My mind goes left,

My heart goes north,

Isn't it funny,

How life goes on,

No matter how many times you die,

I wish I could say I had one more chance,

But my nine lives have gone at last,

The kitty now frail,

Lying across the floor,

I just couldn't do it anymore,

The knife wouldn't help,

Neither would the scars,

Forever carved,

In my cold pale arm,

My body motionless,

As I watch my life,

Played over in my head,

Hoping to cry,

But left for dead,

Wishing for a new start,

Where did I go wrong,

Don't bother to care,

It will only make it worse,

You never did anyway,

Not even while I wrote this verse.
